But, remember, whether you choose FertilAid for Women or Fertility Blend for Women you can be assured you are getting a fertility-enhancing supplement that is based on the most current scientific research available.
Similarities:
Vitex agnus-castus: The most important similarity between FertilAid for Women and Fertility Blend for Women is that both products contain the herb Vitex agnus-castus (commonly known as vitex or chasteberry) as the primary active ingredient. Vitex has been used for hundreds of years in traditional medicine to help ease menstrual problems. In recent years, the results of numerous clinical research studies have validated the safe use of vitex for a variety of female reproductive conditions, including infertility, female hormonal imbalance, and ovulatory and menstrual period irregularities.
The active compounds found in vitex help to promote fertility by decreasing prolactin levels in the body. Prolactin is a hormone secreted by the pituitary gland that is responsible for breast milk production. During pregnancy and lactation, it is perfectly normal for prolactin levels to be elevated as your body prepares for, and then sustains, breast milk production. However, many women (especially women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) experience elevated prolactin levels even when they are not pregnant or breastfeeding, which often results in fertility issues. Here’s why: In addition to sustaining breast milk production, prolactin also plays a role in preventing conception by suppressing ovulation. (Interestingly, this is why it is difficult for a woman to get pregnant while she is breastfeeding.) Specifically, prolactin inhibits follicle-stimulating hormone and gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH), both of which help your eggs to develop and mature in the ovaries. As a result, elevated prolactin levels disrupt ovulation and impact the regularity of your menstrual period, making it difficult to conceive. By reducing prolactin levels, vitex helps to restore regular ovulation and menstruation.
Elevated prolactin levels also impact progesterone production. As a result, women with higher than normal prolactin levels often suffer from low progesterone levels, which can result in a condition known as luteal phase defect. Luteal phase defect occurs when the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle is too short to allow for successful implantation of the embryo, and is often the cause of spontaneous miscarriages. By reducing prolactin levels, vitex increases fertility by helping to promote sufficient progesterone production.
Because of the ability of vitex to promote hormonal balance and cycle regularity, this herb is extremely beneficial for trying to conceive women with irregular periods, ovulatory disorders and/or PCOS.
Antioxidants: Many fertility experts point to oxidative stress (a physiological condition that occurs when there are excessive amounts of free radicals circulating in the body) as a contributing factor to fertility issues in women. Research has shown that supplementing your diet with antioxidant nutrients can help your body neutralize free radicals, thereby preventing the cellular damage that these unstable compounds cause. Both FertilAid for Women and Fertility Blend for Women contain optimal amounts of key antioxidant nutrients, including Vitamin E and selenium. In addition to Vitamin E and selenium, Fertility Blend contains green tea, while FertilAid for Women contains Vitamin C.
B Vitamins: The B vitamins play an important role in promoting fertility and ensuring the health of a growing fetus during pregnancy. FertilAid for Women contains at least 100% DV of all the B vitamins, while Fertility Blend contains large amounts of three key B vitamins for female reproductive health (Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, and folic acid).
Cost: At Early-Pregnancy-Tests.com, both FertilAid for Women and Fertility Blend for Women are available for purchase for $28.95 per 1-month supply.
Differences:
Prenatal Vitamin: The most notable difference between FertilAid for Women and Fertility Blend for Women is that FertilAid for Women contains, in addition to its proprietary blend of fertility-enhancing herbs and nutrients, a complete prenatal vitamin. Many women appreciate the convenience and cost savings that comes with not having to take an additional prenatal supplement along with their fertility-enhancing supplement.
Proprietary blend: While both products contain a proprietary blend of fertility-enhancing herbs and nutrients, these blends contain different ingredients. In addition to vitex, FertilAid for Women contains three additional herbs: Trifolium pretense (red clover), Eleutherococcus senticosus (Siberian ginseng) and Ginkgo biloba. Red Clover contains isoflavones (estrogen-like compounds) that help to promote proper estrogen balance. For women who produce too much estrogen, isoflavones can help decrease estrogen production by binding to estrogen receptors throughout the body. On the other hand, isoflavones can mimic the effects of estrogen, which is beneficial for women producing too little estrogen. Ginkgo biloba improves circulation throughout the body (including to the reproductive organs) and acts as an antioxidant. Siberian ginseng has been used traditionally as a female tonic. On the other hand, the proprietary blend in Fertility Blend for Women contains the amino acid L-arginine, which helps to promote cervical mucus production and maintain a healthy uterine lining by supporting the production of nitric oxide. Nitric oxide dilates blood vessels and helps promote blood flow to the uterus and ovaries, which results in increased production of secretions in the uterus and cervix.
Companion Product: FertilAid for Women has a companion product, FertileCM. FertileCM is a fertility supplement designed to support the production of fertile-quality cervical mucus to help prepare the uterine lining for implantation of the fertilized egg. A key ingredient in FertileCM is L-arginine (also found in Fertility Blend, see above). When taken together, FertilAid for Women and FertileCM provide a complete package for trying to conceive women, including a full prenatal vitamin and a unique combination of herbs and nutrients that enhance fertility by promoting cycle regularity, hormone balance, and the production of fertile-quality cervical mucus.
