Get Pregnant - 5 Essential Tips
A home pregnancy test determines pregnancy through the detection of the hormone hCG in a urine sample.
With most home pregnancy testing products, the "reaction time" of the test is a minimum five minute interval to verify a negative result for pregnancy. Please observe all testing tips and procedure when using any home diagnostic or predictive kit.

If you are fertility charting with a basal thermometer, or using ovulation tests, you'll know when to begin testing for pregnancy. If pregnant, the amount of hCG in your system should be around 25 mIU at 10 dpo (days past ovulation), 50 mIU at 12 dpo, 100 mIU at around two weeks dpo. Our pregnancy tests are the most sensitive available, sensitive to 20 mIU/hCG. This means you can begin testing for pregnancy at 7-10 days past ovulation. Please note that if you receive a negative this early, please conduct follow up tests using first morning urine. A negative result at 7 DPO, for example, does not rule out the possibility of pregnancy.

For earliest detection of pregnancy, use first morning urine, as this urine sample contains the most concentrated amount of hCG and observe other testing tips from our FAQ.

Given proper procedure, a home pregnancy test (hpt) is very accurate. Our tests are FDA approved and are over 99% accurate. Correct procedure and observing test-taking tips will maximize accuracy: If a test is not done correctly, it will compromise accuracy. Always check the expiration dates of pregnancy tests! Ours at Early Pregnancy Tests exhibit the maximum-allowable 2-year expiration date. Pregnancy test sensitivity is measured in thousandths of International Units, or mIU. The most sensitive pregnancy tests can detect hCG levels at as low as 20 mIU. This level of hCG is present in the urine of pregnant women at about 7 to 10 days past ovulation.
