Use Softcup as a reservoir to keep sperm close to the cervix
Although commonly used for period protection, trying-to-conceive (TTC) couples have discovered a new use for the Softcup - as a fertility aid!
So how are women using the hypo-allergenic Softcup to increase their chances of conceiving a baby? Instead of inserting the Softcup during their periods, trying-to-conceive couples are using the Softcup following lovemaking to help pool and hold sperm around the cervix. Alternately, semen can be directly deposited into the Softcup reservoir and inserted directly into the vagina and around the cervix.
- Safe and Hypo-allergenic - No Latex
- Use to Increase Your Odds of Conceiving
Softcup fertility success stories are now so commonplace that Instead has filed for FDA clearance to officially market the Softcups as a conception aid.
Better yet, Softcups are "body friendly and body safe." They have been tested for biocompatibility and are hypoallergenic. In the over ten years that the product has been on the market, there have been no reported incidences of Toxic Shock Syndrome. Instead Softcups are made entirely of hypoallergenic, non-toxic, non-irritating, non-absorbent materials that have been used for more than 20 years in the health care profession. And the Softcups have no irritating latex.
The Softcup by Instead was originally designed as an innovative "no strings"
and "no wings" alternative to traditional forms of feminine protection.
Yet, it was the trying-to-conceive community who first used the Softcup
as a preconception fertility aid.
According to Instead,
the makers of the Softcup, trying-to-conceive (TTC) couples were "seeking
a simple and affordable option before going to more extreme treatments. [These
couples] discovered that the Softcup could be inserted immediately after intercourse
to promote conception - and they had amazing success stories to prove it.”
As a fertility aid, the
rationale behind the Softcup is simple: Following lovemaking, the Softcup is
used as a reservoir to hold semen and sperm close to the cervix. The cervix
is the channel that sperm must pass through to reach the uterus and fertilize
the egg. Thus, the Softcup may work as a fertility aid by helping pool sperm
around the cervix.
Instructions
for Using the Softcup
For TTC couples, the
Softcup can be inserted after procreative lovemaking while the semen is
near the cervix to promote conception. Alternately, the Softcup may be
inserted with semen directly deposited in the Softcup reservoir. Note
that the Softcups cannot be re-used and should not be worn for more than
12 hours. For TTC application, only a fraction of that time is required.
Using the Instead Softcup, like anything, requires just a bit of getting used to. That means
it might be a bit awkward at first and take a moment or two of practice
to insert the Softcup properly and comfortably. Below are some basic learning
tips - and please see our diagram to the right. A complete instructional guide comes with each Softcup order.
- Unlike tampons, when inserting the Softcup, PUSH BACK - and not up - for correct Softcup placement.
- To insert the Softcup,
ensure that the hands are clean. Squeeze the Softcup by compressing
the opposite sides of the rim together.
- Keeping the rims pinched
together, insert into the vagina as far back as it will go and place
under the cervix and behind the pubic bone. Complete instructions provide
detailed step by step help.
- When removing the
Softcup, use your middle finger to gently hook under the Softcup rim.
When you are ready to remove the Softcup, avoid pulling the cup straight
down. Instead, keep the cup level to the floor to avoid spilling any
contents.
- For use as feminine
protection instead of a tampon, the Instead Softcup can often be worn
twice as long as a tampon.
- The Softcups cannot be re-used and should not be worn for more than 12 hours. For
use as a fertility aid, only a fraction of that time should be required.

great product hoping for sucessBy Tracy from Australia on January 1, 2012 great product. I think the soft cups will improve our chances in concieving naturally and avoiding anymore IVF. Pros:hygienic discreet packaging easy instructionsI would recommend this item to a friend.Used softcup for 2 cyclesBy Amber from Corpus Christi, tx on December 4, 2011 I love these, it makes bd'ing less messy. My husband puts them in for me and I can barely tell they're in. We haven't had a bfp yet but I don't really even know if we've been using them on the right days so I just ordered the opk strips today. Baby dust to you all...God bless!
Pros:No mess on the sheets
Easy to useCons:No dislikes, I love them!I would recommend this item to a friend.Seriously helped us conceive!!By Proud Momma from Ogden, UT on October 17, 2011 We suffered a miscarriage in November of 2009. This was not only devastating to us as a couple, but very hard to explain to our children who were excited. The lose consumed me, and I began to research any and all ways to conceive. I bought the ovulation tests, followed the calendars and calculators. Then in April of 2010 I read about the Instead soft cup and figured- Why not? We used it ONCE after intercourse in June, and in July I missed my period. I took a test and was surprised to find that I was indeed pregnant!! We are now the proud parents of a beautiful 7 month old boy (yes, all boys... should research more on how to conceive a girl for the next one, lol). This thing works and the FDA really should look into approving it for conception purposes!Pros:Comfortable
Inexpensive
Truly worked for our purposes
Didn't have to sit with my butt on a pillowCons:A little uncomfortable inserting...thought I was going to lose it up there (would have been really embarrassing explaining that to the DR.)I would recommend this item to a friend.Great ProductBy Bre from Decatur, AL on September 22, 2011 Love this product.. Would recommend them to anyone that is trying to conceive couples!I would recommend this item to a friend.Worked like a charm!By Heather from Louisille, KY on September 21, 2011 I bought these things on a whim, being led to the site after looking for dietary ways to increase my chances of conception. My husband and I had been trying very casually for a year (off the pill, but not paying too much attention to cycles or mucus--all those things that TTC women really look for), but I honestly figured it would happen on its own. Well, being 30, apparently you do have to "try" so to speak. So, with that realization, I used three Softcups during the next month after receiving them in the mail, and "bam!" a positive test a week after my missed period. I am six months pregnant now. Talk about instant gratification!!! I don't know if I was having trouble conceiving or just not being diligent enough, but it sure did take the stress out of the situation. After all, at 30, there is no time like the present!Pros:No Drugs, No Planning, No Stress, and CHEAP!!!Cons:Not necessarily a 'dislike' but, they can be a little messy, and you should be comfortable with your own anatomy, or risk it falling out. Don't be scared to reach on up there! Good Luck!I would recommend this item to a friend.sounds hopefulBy 44 and trying from shelbiana ky on September 4, 2011 my husband and i have been infertile for 20 yrs-i have one ovary and tube that has flow my husband has low sperm count and slow sperm motility went to fertility dr for a yr but got frustrated and quite--gonna give this a try pray for us in our last ditch effortI would recommend this item to a friend.want to try theseBy Dee from pdl NM on August 20, 2011 Well I am desperate to try anything that may help. I am almost 30, have one blocked tube and one specialist said the only way I could get pregnant is by invitro fertilization. We have not produced a child in the whole 7 years of trying. (of course we didnt track ovulation this whole time) Ive previously been on clomid and was tracking ovulation then. Still nothing. Since then Ive quit smoking and lost 90lbs. I recently bought ovulation tests, preseed, and basal thermometer, and fertile CM, and going to buy these too. (hubby's swimmers are good) I've started praying too. I'm hoping all this combined will help. Will let you know. Its hard not to have doubts after 7 yrs of unprotected sex and no baby. But God willing I will conceive.Pros:Dont know yet.Cons:Probably nothing if I follow the directions.I would recommend this item to a friend.PLEASE USE THESE CUPS!!By Pregnant again thx 2 cups! from NYC on August 17, 2011 I AM PREGNANT AGAIN YAYYY! We were TTC #2 and was having a hard time bc my cycles were crazy after baby 1!!!! I used these cups to get pg with my first, and it worked the first time I used them! I thought that may have been a fluke, but still recommended them to TTC women in case it wasn't! Now I know it was not! Since I was not able to know when I ovulated bc of my off cycles, I got the conception pack and took an ovulation test and both lines were DARK, so we dtd and used a cup. Just that ONE day and one cup and I am 9 weeks pregnant with baby 2!! I LOVE these cups and I know nothing works for everyone, but for the price, its worth a shot!!Pros:easy to use and when inserted right you can not feel themCons:a little hard to hard to get out, but SOOOO worth it!!!!!!!I would recommend this item to a friend.1st time using...worked like a charm!By Hilary from Hartford, CT on August 13, 2011 After TTC #2 for six months with no luck, I decided to give these a try, thinking it would help to hold everything in that usually just leaks out! I used these every time we BD during my most fertile period, along with Preseed, and I am happy to report that I am now pregnant after our first try using them! These are definitely worth a shot in my opinion:)I would recommend this item to a friend. This really works!!!By Lisa from Boston on August 10, 2011 I don't usually leave a review but wanted to for other people trying and maybe having the same problem. Because of my husbands medication let's just say he can't get erect when it's necessary . When I knew I was ovulating because I used the ovulation test strips he would put his semen in the softcup and I inserted it. I did this 3 days in a row and tested today and I'm pregnant. This was the only method we used so it does really work. I would recommend this item to a friend.Love itBy Luci from Port St Lucie, FL on August 9, 2011 So far so good. I did not have any problems put it in. Sice I was on the Nuva ring for years. It stayed put all night.
I could go to the bathroom right away wich was nice . I had an UTI a couple of mounths ago trying to hold in the sperm as long as I could. Thank god for the soft cup. ;)I would recommend this item to a friend.Got pregnant 2nd month using this!By Melissa from Peoria, AZ on August 2, 2011 I received my BFP on the 2nd cycle using Soft Cups! First month trying them I inserted them right after intercourse. I felt this may not have been the best idea, though, as I was afraid I might have been trapping some of DH's valuable little swimmers OUT instead of IN. I did not get pregnant the first month using Soft Cups using this method. However, I tried them again the second month ttc. This time I laid vertical after intercourse for about 30 minutes with a pillow under my bottom and did not insert them right away. Then I inserted the Soft Cups after the 30 minutes was up. Both times I wore the Soft Cup for about 5-7 hours after intercourse. My second month trying Soft Cups I got a BFP! I do recommend this handy (and inexpensive) fertility tool! :)Pros:Great for keeping the swimmers in!Cons:A little uncomfortable to use, especially for a first timer. They were much bigger than I though they would be!I would recommend this item to a friend.Easy to use...and effective!By Lisa from Orange County, CA on July 30, 2011 After 13 months of trying, I bought these after reading all the reviews. I used one on each night that I was ovulating after sex, and today I just got my BFP! It was the easiest thing to use if you follow the instructions, and it worked! I would recommend these to anyone whose starting to look for a little help before moving on to more expensive, invasive options! Thank you, early-pregnancy-tests!Pros:Easy to use
effective!I would recommend this item to a friend.a little strangeBy Amy Lane from swartz creek, mi on July 29, 2011 I used this product for trying to conceive. It was a bit strange inserting it directly after sex, it was a tiny bit big for me, but once it was in i couldn't feel it at all. Removal was a tad messy but i just got a postive pregnancy test today so i'm thinking it did its job. I'm just praying the pregnancy survives.Pros:no leakage after sexCons:messy removalI would recommend this item to a friend.softcupsBy sonji gentry from texas on July 28, 2011 a little painful for me and a little large also had some pain after putting it in bit i also dont do tampons for same reason other than pain not hard to usePros:not hard to useCons:pain and the sizeI would recommend this item to a friend.First Time....By Mrs. Harrison from Detroit, MI on July 23, 2011 My husband and have been TTC for 2 years now and I read an artical about this product and we thought we would try it out.... The hubby and I are young with all signs pointing to healthy fertility. TTC for 14months now, used softcups two cycles with no success.I would recommend this item to a friend.FINALLY GOT A POSITIVE!By Lynn from Virginia on July 20, 2011 It has been four months that me and my significant other have been TTC. We had just about lost our hope and faith until we learned about this wonderful product! We firmly believe that with an OPK and the softcups our positive finally came. I am grateful for this product and I plan on recommending it to all my friends. Thanks for putting this product on the market.Pros:It is a great fertility aid.
Easy to use
ComfortableCons:NothingI would recommend this item to a friend.Definitely work!By Brandy from WV on July 11, 2011 I was hoping that all the reviews I read were right and they definitely were. I got pregnant after the second time I used one of these, less than a month of using it after 2.5 years of trying. Sadly, I miscarried but I still got pregnant, something we didn't know was possible. Anyone who is TTC should try these if you haven't already.Pros:Work quickly and very easy to use.I would recommend this item to a friend.Had to lookBy LabNerd from dallas,tx on June 27, 2011 Ok, before I start I should say that this is just my own experience and is not a clinical trial or anything official. But I am a medical laboratory tech and, as such, I have access to lab equipment. Cool thing about being a lab tech is whenever I'm curious about medical stuff I don't have far to look for answers.
I've been using the softcups for my cycle for a year now. I like that I can not smell any odor with them (like with pads) and my panties stay clean (sometimes I leak with tampons). This month I am also using them to get pregnant. I was worried that I was going to trap the semen outside of the cup, cause maybe the sperm would be on the base of my vagina and not on the cervix when I put it in. So I had to look for myself. I work graveyards at the hospital, so shortly before work we had sex and then after being at work for a few hours, I went to the lady's, removed it, put it in a bag and took it back to the lab with me.
The first time I did this, we had used astroglide. I took samples of the fluid on the inside and outside of the cup and looked at it under the microscope. All the sperm on both sides were dead. There were plenty of them there, but no movement whatsoever. Last night, I tried the same thing, but we used preseed instead. What a difference. The semen on the inside of the cup (that would have been touching the cervix) where still moving. Of course, there were still some that were not moving, but that is expected after 4 hours in the vagina, but there where more than enough movers to get the job done. There were many in the fluids on the outside of the cup too, but there was no movement at all. So if I hadn't worn the cup, I'm thinking the ones in the cup would have all been dead too because the vaginal fluids aren't good for them like the cervical fluids are.
So, maybe the preseed kept them alive or maybe my cervical mucus was fertile, but it seems to me that the fluid that the little guys swim in is really important. I've read the article that astroglide is really bad for sperm motility, which is why I got the preseed.
Just thought I would share, because even if you use the product but have a bad fluid inside the cup, I dont think it will do much good. I've read that water, saliva, and any lubricant other than preseed will hurt the sperm. It would be cool if they could do a real study with instead cups used with the different lubricant options.
Side note, kinda embarrassing, but when I put it in I have to be careful cause air gets trapped. The first time I used it for ttc, when I went to stand up, all the air blew out noisily along with some of the semen. That's never happened on my period.
Even though this is my first month trying for a baby, I've been off bc for about 5 years and have never been pregnant, I'm only 28. I'm really regular and I know when I ovulate. I'm thinking that astroglide and a slightly low sperm count are part of it. Maybe this combo of preseed and cups will work. Good luck to you all.Pros:-Never leaked on my period with it
-the semen stayed inside my body and with the preseed, seemed to say alive longer.
Cons:- they are bigger than I'd like
- its hard to discretely dispose of them since they are messy. I tend to wrap them in the next ones wrapper and then I still fold it up in alot of tpI would recommend this item to a friend.Would not have my son without it!By Holly from Northern CA on June 16, 2011 I had used these for my period, but never had heard of them for TTC. Came across an article and was fascinated. I was about to TTC using a known donor and did not want to go through the cost of Dr. appointments and testing. Along with the Clearblue Easy fertility monitor to know when I surged, I did two inseminations a cycle using these cups. My baby boy was conceived on the second cycle.
I am now TTC again (Currently in the two week wait) and again used the Soft Cup (Panicked when I went to the store to get them and realized they changed the name and packaging!)
I use Pre Seed around the rim to help with insertion. Also make sure you practice several times before, as there is a learning curve. I would make sure it was not inside out, then put a bit of water in one and insert it, making sure none of the water spilled. After a while it is easy peasy!
After insertion I would make sure it was properly placed. The plastic is thin enough that you can actually feel your cervix through the plastic, knowing its right where it should be!
No problems taking it out. Just bear down a bit , grab the front rim and pull it down from behind your pubic bone. Then simply pull out an throw away.
Never used one to keep semen at cervix after intercourse, but it works perfectly for donor inseminations! And since they swimmer get to bypass the vagina, I figure they get a bit of a head start ;o)Pros:Helped me conceive

(the first time i put it in upside down and it didn't work, but after figuring that out, it worked just fine)..I had AF 5-2-2011 and ovulate early around 8 - 12 days after AF. My husband and I have used it once already and I could tell that it made a difference as there were no tell tale signs on the sheet (if you get my drift.) I'm praying that this little cup will aid us in TTC. Baby dust and angel kisses to everyone...Pros:Easy to insert.

TTC Baby #3By JSP from South Florida on March 10, 2011 I used this product last year in order to get pregnant fast. I got my period May 15th and on June 8th (13dpo) got a BFP unfortunately that pregnancy ended in a miscarriage due to a blood clotting disorder, I didn't know I had that..we used the soft cups twice in that cycle (keeping it it all night and disposing in the morning) using OPK ..
.Fast forward to 2011, after visitng the RE and getting a diganosis and the green light to concieve.... It's been 3 months and no pregnancy yet, so we tried the soft cups this month, I will update if I get another BFP, we used it with the smiley OPK and about 3 soft cups

I have PCOS and a thyroid condition, and had a miscarriage about four years ago. I bought Softcups and a basal body thermometer in December. I started tracking my basal body temperature right away, and realized that I ovulated on day 20 of a 31 day cycle. We used 4 of the 6 softcups and I took a positive pregnancy test on January 28th. I can't tell you how much I believe in this product! They really worked for me. I will be 10 weeks pregnant tomorrow and everything has been going great this pregnancy! I have been telling everyone about Softcups.I would recommend this item to a friend.Wow...I'm amazed!By Shannon from Dover, Delaware on February 12, 2011 After 20 months of TTC I went ahead and bought these. I thought there was something to be said about the positive reviews yet I still tried not to be too hopeful that it really would work. HOPE I GET BRP =]]] I will keep you guys updated I would recommend this item to a friend.Skeptical about this, but going to try and see if it helps give me a pregnancy!By WISHFUL from Scotland on February 4, 2011 My first impression was whoa!, because i saw the size of the thing and the big rubbery ring, i was scared, and i read the reviews on here saying it was great etc and thought, okay, give it a try, at first, i didn't know how to get it in, but if you first relax, that's the main thing, it aint gonna get lost in there, its an impossibility.
I have put fingers in initially to see where my pubic bone was, as it goes right behind the pubic bone, and I felt my pubic bone, now that is the place to push the wee folded over ring and let go slowly, it will unfold itself inside you just at the entrance to your cervix, which is where you want it to be of course, holding the pool of sperm close to the entrance, giving you the extra bit of confidence knowing it will hold it there till you take it out, maybe after 12 hours or so maximum.
almost 2 years not conceiving led me to try this, well this is my first month TTC with soft cups and my man has ED issues and lower than average sperm count, so proving difficult in many ways to get pregnant naturally, and its not that romantic trying to fold it over and insert it after you have babydanced, but not a lot can be done about that, but its stops it being so messy if you do it immediately afterwards. Almost now at my period being due, so fingers and legs crossed. any other tips very welcome! please please let me know how many months it took for you all to conceive using this product?Pros:Very clean to use if you use it immediately
gives confidence knowing its doing all the extra hard work after you babydance.
Cons:no where to store it, before hand, would be good if there was a wee plastic pouch to keep it stored at side of bed.
can be slightly crampy but nothing major whilst its inside.
can be hard to get a grip on taking it out and slides at times because of the natural lube,I would recommend this item to a friend.Great idea!By CajunButterfly from Louisiana on February 1, 2011 It will take some getting used to, but it's definitely a great alternative to pads and tampons. I've always felt bloated and uncomfortable with tampons, and pads feel like I'm wearing a diaper and make me paranoid and uncomfortable...although I still had to wear pantyliners, it limited my chafing that I usually get by day 3 of my period from wearing pads. Pros:convenient (up to 12 hours without worry)
looking forward to summer
no bloating or feeling full
Cons:messy upon removal (yikes!)
takes some getting used to, (putting in the right way to insure no leaks)
Don't really know when to change out, (I guess that comes with experience, too.)I would recommend this item to a friend. It worked!!By Michaela from South carolina on January 28, 2011 I decided to buy the instead cups since nothing else is working. I am 41 yrs old and I have PCOS. The first cycle I used them I got Pregnant!! I highly recommend them!I would recommend this item to a friend.Amazing!By Brandi from Casper, WY on January 23, 2011 I was mildy frightened of these when I first purchased them and it took everything that I had not to take one out and play with it when they first arrived. They are remarkably easy to use and remove as well as being incredibly comfortable. I was thrilled with the freedom that they gave me during ovulation to ensure that I was getting the most advantage from intercourse. It also allowed to me to move around and know that I was keeping everything in place. I am still uncertain about using them during my period, but would recommend them to anyone who has a lighter cycle. They are definitely more comfortable than tampons.Pros:comfortable, extremely easy to usseI would recommend this item to a friend.Great product - hard to get outBy Char from Lansdale, PA on January 13, 2011 My husband and I are desperately trying to pregnant so I read the reviews and decided to try them. They are easy to get in and if you do it right you can not feel them and the concept is genius. However, they need a string attached them or something because getting them out is frustrating and difficult. I seriously have to position myself and push, as if i was in labor, which does push the cup out a slight bit, just to hopefully "catch" the lip of the cup once you have it then you have to try even harder to keep a hold it of to pull it out. If we get pregnant it will all be worth it. Baby dust to you allPros:CheapCons:Hard to get outI would recommend this item to a friend.keeping fingers crossedBy Madelaine from KC on January 10, 2011 My husband and I have been trying to conceive for about a year. We are both in our early 20s, but have had no luck. I came across this site while doing research and decided we would give products from this site before spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on testing and treatment. After reading the reviews for this product and others I have higher hope that this month or next will be the month.I would recommend this item to a friend.Painful to take outBy Jess from MN on January 4, 2011 I guess others had no problems, but I found it uncomfortable while it was in and painful to remove. I used it once and threw the rest away. These are made to collect your menstrual cycle, so the bag is quite large, and I really can't see how this can be that helpful for keeping the sperm close to the cervix. I would not recommend them myself, but if you have tried everything else, maybe. Pros:PriceCons:Size of the collection bag. Uncomfortable.worked the first month!By Ann from North Andover, MA on December 27, 2010 These are comfortable, not irritating. Would be good for morning attempts to conceive. Easy to sleep with. Not sure what worked exactly but I got pregnant with these the first month we tried them after trying for 6 months with no success. I have twin girls and a two year old boy. But for whatever reason ttc #4 has been a year of pain and loss. I began trying in Nov. of 2009 and misscarried that month as well as in jan of 2010 and then once more in october. 2010. but it took us 8 months to even get pregnant with the one in oct. So after three losses in a row i was desperate to try anything...So my doctor put me on clomid and progesterone to strengthen ovulation and give me a longer luteal phase. but i still wasnt getting pregnant so i remembered these softcups and read EVERY review and was still not too hopeful it would work for me....BUT after one cycle of using soft cups and preseed I got my BFP! I even got a yeast infection during ovulation which i thought would have messed things up but i think being able to use soft cups, with hubbys soilders in the softcup and inserted, made it possible for us to even try! I am A TRUE BELIEVER! I am so grateful for this product and that i just gave it a try....Pros:IT GOT ME PREGNANT FIRST TRYCons:it was a little tricky but worth getting a BFP!I would recommend this item to a friend.G-d bless you all for writing in w/ your success stories :)By Sara from xxxxx on December 12, 2010 i conceived w/ this and a little pre-seed (just enough to lubricate) the first time we used it after one year of trying to conceive. i put a new 'instead' in every night after relations and took it out every morning. we used it for 4 nights during ovulation. i was going to start clomid the next cycle if we didn't conceive. my baby is so beautiful and healthy, and i was sooooo thrilled we were able to conceive him w/ out using drugs or in a dr.s office. i think this product particularly helps if your cervical mucous is low and not ideal b/c it keeps the sperm close to the cervix after relations. best of luck to anyone trying and i HIGHLY endorse this product!!!Pros:it gave me my son!!!!!I would recommend this item to a friend.Great!By Shelley from Raleigh, NC on December 9, 2010 I loved these softcups. I was initially worried they would be hard/weird to insert, but thankfully they were SO easy to use and worked very well! You don't feel a thing when it was inside, which was another thing that worried me. I ordered them too late to really be effective this cycle, but I am looking forward to using them for the next! Fingers Crossed!!Pros:super easy to useCons:nothingI would recommend this item to a friend.Still unsureBy Mindy from Guam on December 9, 2010 We have used the whole package and no luck conceiving but I don't think these would have helped anyway (different issues). The biggest draw back of these is that sperm can live up to 3 and under great conditions for 5 days so since these can only be left in for 12 hours I was always feeling like that one spermy that was going to get the job done was going to be stuck in the cup when I pulled it out. We probably will not order again because of that and because i just had an issue getting them to "catch". Pros:Being able to get up and move around. Cons:Possible spermies that leave with it when removedThe softcupsBy Alicia from missouri on December 3, 2010 I think the softcups are nice and good I personaly just are not able to use them when i did i ended up with mass craps that i couldn't handle it keep up for a few days after taking it out. If wasn't for that i would use them and as long as noone else has that same problem i would recomend them to other people.I would recommend this item to a friend.Instead CupsBy AJ from Indiana on December 1, 2010 It took a little practice learning to insert these correctly but once in place no problem!

Or any one...can you give a follow up story. My husband and I have been ttc for about 2 or 3 months, no luck yet. I plan to use this along with an ovulation test this cycle and hopefully we'll be with child before 2011! I would recommend this item to a friend.Worked on month 2By Jamie from Baltimore on December 1, 2010 I used these one month and didn't get pregnant but I knew I was going to try these again the next month. Luckily they worked for me! I kept them on my nightstand and put them in and kept my hips elevated for 20 minutes. Then I went to sleep and took it out in the middle of the night when I had to go to the bathroom. I was so scared I was going to forget to take them out since you cannot feel them in you at all. Make sure you practice first when you get them so you are confident to use them when the time comes. You cannot beat the price. I still have some left. :)Pros:Easy to put in and comfortableCons:Don't let your DH see you putting them in. It grosses them out.I would recommend this item to a friend.Didnt work for me :( By Melanie from canada on November 30, 2010 I'm kinda disappointed since it didn't work for me Pros:Easy to put in and easy to take out I would recommend this item to a friend.SOFTCUPBy Rocky Brown from st.louis MO on November 30, 2010 I was trying for a baby for 3 months with no luck then I tried the softcups for one month and boom 4 weeks later I was pregnantT.. Cons my husband so far has been the only way it's coming out...I would recommend this item to a friend.Immediate success!By Jen from Colorado Springs, CO on November 3, 2010 My husband and I began trying to get pregnant in September. After the first month with no luck, I began searching online for tips and tricks and stumbled onto this item. I too read all the reviews and was skeptical, but the softcups are so inexpensive I figured why not give it a shot, and much to my surprise, we are pregnant after the first month of using these. The softcups appear a little intimidating at first (because they are kind of large), but they were really easy to insert and I couldn't feel them at all. I left the softcup in overnight and would remove it after 12 hours of insertion. I found them easy to remove with minimal spillage. I am so excited to be pregnant so quickly, although while my husband and I are still young (mid twenties) and hadn't been trying long, I can't help but think that these helped make it happen. If you are reading these reviews, give it a shot. What do you have to lose...there are clearly too many success stories on here to be coincidence. Pros:Inexpensive, easy to insert and remove, can't feel them while they're in, helped me get pregnant quickly!!! :)Cons:Not the most romantic way to end a love-making sessionI would recommend this item to a friend.GOD SentBy Kaishen from Chicago, IL on October 24, 2010 This product is GOD sent for us and THANK YOU all (earlier) reviewers.
We read about this product on http://www.personalpathtopregnancy.com/ and found the product in Walgreens.
We both are in our early 40s and were trying to have kids for the last many months.
My wife is pregnant now after using this product/method for the very first time.
I would recommend this item to a friend.greatBy Ashlynn from Cleveland, ohio on October 14, 2010 Purchased softcup and preseed at the same time. tried 6 months without it and the first month we used the combo of the two- we are now expecting! Excellent product. a little hard to get out after a few hours but not too terrible! Pros:works-- expecting!Cons:a little hard to get outI would recommend this item to a friend.Pregnant after almost 2 years ttcBy Nora from Savannah, GA on October 12, 2010 I had a M/C Dec 2009 @ 7 wks after 1 year of trying. On the 2nd cycle of using this around peak fertility- I got pregnant in October 2010! My clear blue easy fertility monitor did not ever reach peak and my BBT's were weird so i didn't even think I ovulated. I wore it after intercourse laying down for 30 min- then kept them in for 12 hours. With a lot of prayer and hope- these work!!!! Thank God I ran across these!
If you aren't familiar with using a diaphragm, it may be difficult to get the feel of how to put it in and take it out, but practice with them.I would recommend this item to a friend. It helps and it works too!By Priscilla from France on October 6, 2010 DH and i think that combined with the perfect timing using the Ovacue and using the instead cups everytime after we BD helps get the swimmers where they are supposed to be and enhance the chance for us to get our BFP which we did and using the instead cup was the first for the cycle that we got a BFP. They are so comfortable and once they are in, you wont even feel like it is in you and and i kept it inside from after we bd in the evening until the next morning and most of all no spillage! Good product and a genius product for ttc purpose or for the use during menses too.Pros:is comfortable

Me and my hubby tried for a year without any luck. We used this product honestly for 1 month and I found out I was pregnant. I dnt know if this is just a fluke or if it was because I was eating healthier and working out more but regardless it worked for me. I am currently 6 months pregnant and thrilled beyond words. I would recommend that you try it atleast for a few months..It may or may not work for everyone but its definetly worth giving a shot!!!!! I would recommend this item to a friend.Eh...By Renee from Boston, MA on October 2, 2010 I'm still waiting to test so I'm not sure whether or not these really helped. They were relatively comfortable while wearing them. It was a bit uncomfortable (and rather gross) when removing. I would not buy them again.Pros:Comfortable during useI would recommend this item to a friend.Im so happy!By Shaneika from Colorado on October 1, 2010 Me and my husband had been trying to conceive for 3 months after the first cycle of using the instead cup I got pregnant! I found out I was pregnant when I was just 3 weeks. Today I am 5 weeks and our first child is due May 30th 2011. I would recommend this product to anyone who has been trying to conceive for awhile.Pros:Very easy to place in an remove.I would recommend this item to a friend. It worked for me!!!!BFPBy Kianjegge from New Jersey on September 26, 2010 I and my hubby have been trying to conceive for like 6 - 7 months now. Last month was the first month we used clear blue digital ovulation kit and instead cups. I just read all the reviews here and wanted to give it a try, and lo and behold this month missed my period and realised im 5 weeks pregnant now. I just want to give thanks to The Good Lord we serve. For without him, we wouldn't be sharing this good news with all. And also for discovering instead cups on time. Just give it a try if you in doubt and your little miracle will be on the way.God blessPros:Once inserted, you dont feel it there.I would recommend this item to a friend.Worthless and causes yeast infectionsBy Joanna from Georgia on September 25, 2010 I knew most of these reviews were too good to be true. I read the rave reviews on these things and had been trying 6 months already so I gave these a try, tried them for 5 months straight, 11th month of trying to conceive now and nothing but 2 awful yeast infections in 5 months, beware!Pros:You can have clean sex during your time of the month, easy to put inCons:Don't work with a lot of people as a conception aid, causes yeast infections, are difficult to removeHasn't worked for me in over 6 monthsBy still wishing from ny ny on September 24, 2010 I am 32 and have been using soft cup for over 6 months to help get pregnant. Cons:didn't work for meI would recommend this item to a friend. It worked for me 1st time too!!By Alicia from Los Angeles on September 23, 2010 I promised myself I'd review this if it worked. I used this with preseed and OPKs. Had been using OPKs but not preseed and instead. Now I'm 6 weeks pregnant! I'm 34 and we'd been TTC for 9 months, 3 months with OPKs. I don't know if it's coincidence or if this helped but it sure is worth a try!!Pros:It worked!Cons:It's not the most pleasant thing to do after being intimate but it's not a problem at all!I would recommend this item to a friend.not to sureBy Somer from ohio on September 20, 2010 these thing are way to big and no flexable to be placed in the correct way i wasted moneyPros:cheapCons:way to big and hardExcellent for TTC!By HLB from Missouri on September 20, 2010 I am 42 and my husband is 47, and we are TTC for the first time ever (we are newly weds). Due to blood pressure issues and medications, my husband had ED issues, and we have been unable to get the sperm to the proper place in the old fashioned way - intercourse- he just doesn't stay firm enough to deliver inside. So we decided to try the home artificial insemination route with the Instead Softcup. Basically, we did manual external stimulation for him, collected the semen in the Instead Softcup, then inserted the Cup into me, I left the Cup in overnight. Took a couple tries to get it into the correct position, but one we figured it out, it was easy easy easy. We did this 3 times over two period cycles, and VOILA, I was pregnant!!!! We have heard so many stories of couples, especially woman over 35, taking years to conceive, so we expected a long wait - we were happily surprised at how quickly we conceived. I would highly recommend trying the Instead Cup for couples TTC, especially for older couple and/or men with ED issues. My husband not only was happy he was able to help get me pregnant, but he enjoyed the process as well!
.Cons:Takes a bit of practice to get insertion and removal down. I have very small hands and short fingers, so that adds a bit of a challenge.I would recommend this item to a friend.I'm PREGNANT!By Tara D from Reedsville, Pennsylvania on September 19, 2010 DH and I where TTC for 6 Mos and NOTHING. I read about this product and decided to give it a try, sounded easy enough. When I got them in the mail I slipped on in just to get a feel for it, a bit hard to remove but wasn't uncomfortable. I was using ovulation testing strips, it read I was gonna ovulate in the next 12-24hrs. So we tried the next 3 nights with some pre-seed and put them in. Missed my period the next month. I am now 5 months pregnant and super excited. GOOD LUCK!!! BABY DUSTPros:It worked first try
easy to put in
comfortable
Cons:A bid difficult to take out but other than that nothingI would recommend this item to a friend.Works!By Natalie from Philadelphia, PA on September 14, 2010 We were trying for almost a year. We knew that we would not be one of those first month success couples, because for the first 8 years of being married, we just kind of watched when not to have sex and never got pregnant. I had hsg already scheduled, as I was getting worried. I ended up reading about the cup on this website and went to Ride Aid immediately, hah. Used it that month and got a positive result right away! Had to call and cancel hsg, hah. I kept it in for about 2 hours after every time, was too scared to leave it cooking in there all night. I think it worked for us because I always felt like we had a serious leakage problem, regardless of any measures taken against that. Pros:It worked the first month we used it. Cheap as a fertility aid. Cons:May be difficult to "navigate" for women who are not familiar with their body. If you use tampons regularly, don't worry, you'll be a pro at this in a day. I would recommend this item to a friend.Love em!!!By Jessica from Baltimore, MD on September 11, 2010 I have been using these for over a year for my periods and have raved about them to friends. I absolutely love them. They are one of my favorite products ever! I was shocked when I started TTC with my husband last month ( I have 2 kids already) that you could use them as a fertility aid. I have used them this month for that purpose and hopefulyy, fingers crossed, it worked for that as well. Pros:Last all day without "slipping".
Cleaner than pads or tampons!
Can"t even feel it once its inserted correctly. Cons:Can be messy to remove but not really a big deal unless you are squeamish. I would recommend this item to a friend.still debating...By Evelina from Winnipeg, MB on September 9, 2010 i decided to buy a pack of these to see if it would help keep sperm closer to me and in me for longer, hoping it would help me conceive... it popped in no problem, but i found it a little difficult to remove, it took a few tries and some patience. i will be continuing to try these to help us, as we have been ttc for almost a year, and i would love to surprise my husband with a positive result before christmas!I would recommend this item to a friend.Thrilled!By Bella from SF on September 7, 2010 It was much easier to use than I expected. I was afraid because I am the squeamish type.. I put in after sex while still in bed. Super easy. The first night I did not insert it deeply enough and used way too much preseed & things leaked all over. I took it out after an hour. The next 3 nights, I was fine, not much leakage at all & left it in overnight. Taking it out was super easy. Maybe it's my anatomy... There isn't much room for it to go in there, so it's easy to reach. One morning I had to pull harder, as it was kinda suctioned... Otherwise it took literally 5 seconds.Pros:Easier than it sounds (for me).
Cheap.
Worth a try!Cons:Nothing. Just sounds scary.I would recommend this item to a friend.Worked the first time I used it!By Heather from Indianapolis, Indiana on September 6, 2010 I have been trying to conceive for many months and decided to try this product after reading the rave reviews. I was a tad freaked out by the product itself considering tampons can be somewhat difficult for me. I used two of the softcups during my previous cycle. Basically, I kept track of my basal body temperature, urinated on ovulation strips, and when I thought I was within a few days of ovulating, we would have sex and then I'd insert this product. The second time I used it I had some problems removing it and had to call the number for tips to remove it (basically, you have to relax, which I wasn't doing). I just took a pregnancy test and I'm pregnant. I swear that these cups and the ovulation monitoring made the difference. I highly suggest trying this product out!I would recommend this item to a friend. It worked!!!!!By Analise from Nashville, tennessee on September 6, 2010 I just turned 35, and have been Ttc for 5 months, decided to try these along with a small amount of pre seed ( I've never really needed lubrication, but noticed I didn't get ewcm, so decided to use pre-seed. It made things quite messy so I only used a small amount.). Used the combination 3 times during ovulation week, but was not positive I even ovulated because I never got a positive ovulation test....regardless, I got a positive hpt 4 days before I missed my period!!!I really think these work, I left them in overnight. Goodluck to all!!Pros:It worked first month using them!Cons:NoneI would recommend this item to a friend.IT WORKS!!!By Julia from Chicago, Il on August 27, 2010 I've been TTC since May, 2010 with no results. I have long irregular cycles and always used ovulation prediction tests. This time I also used the Softcups (ovulated on day 27!) and got PREGNANT!!! We had sex CD 24,26 and 27 and I put the softcup in after each time we did it and to better the chances I had to masturbate in order to achieve orgasm. I'm so happy I gave these a try. I got my softcups at a local drug store (needed them ASAP :))
GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!!!Pros:Can't even feel them, easy to put in and take out!I would recommend this item to a friend.Worked for usBy Kristin from The woodlands,tx on August 22, 2010 This product worked for us on the first time using them. We tried one month prior to this after I was on the pill for a year and no luck. (which i wasnt surprised since it was only the first month) Then we tried these soft cups and I am now 6 weeks pregnant! I credit God first of all for hearing our prayers but believe He lead us to this product! Praying it is a success for all of you!Pros:easy to use, comfortableI would recommend this item to a friend. Will be trying for #2By Sarah from Salt Lake City, Utah on August 20, 2010 I was introduced to these Instead Softcups several years ago and used them for my period with no problems. It was strange the first few times I used them and once they were in, I didn't notice a thing. Removal was easy but sometimes messy.
My husband and I have one child and are trying for our second. It took five years to conceive the first and we have been trying for #2 for over six months. I am excited to try these softcups with my next ovulation and see if we have good results. Please keep your fingers crossed, ladies!Pros:You can wear longer than a tampon, they are comfortable once inserted, and they allow you to maintain your normal life.Cons:Messy removal and strange the first time using. Remember the first times trying tampons though and it was the same feeling. Practice makes perfect!I would recommend this item to a friend.Got a BFP First Month of UseBy Miranda from Riverside, CA on August 17, 2010 I am 25 years old, healthy and married, and have been TTC for 6 months. I bought these cups along with Pre-Seed, and got my BFP on the first month of trying it! I highly recommend this product for couples TTC, but use it along with Pre-Seed.Pros:It keeps the sperm right where they need to be all night long.
It's easy to put in
Can't feel itCons:It's awkward to take out
Messy/SpillsI would recommend this item to a friend.Works!!!By rene from Vacaville, ca on August 12, 2010 I bought these just as a"what the heck, I'll try it" . I ovulated.on the 14th based on the first response fertility monitor reading and used some pre seed that night before the BD and inserted the instead cups right after (I had it right at my bedside)and I stayed in bed and took it out the next day. I did this for three days during my ovulation and 10 days later, I got my first pregnancy test...It was positive!!!!!! I was amazed. this was my first month trying with the pre-seed, fertility monitor, and instead cups -- all together. I am 38 and didn't think it would happen so fast. I know that this made a difference because we were trying without any of these and nothing then this month..I got my wish.
RenePros:Affordable and easy to put in..I would recommend this item to a friend.TTCBy Patience from Gautier, MS on August 12, 2010 My husband & I have been trying for the past 18 months to get pregnant. The body is a strange thing. I have had two MC, both of which I had no problems getting pregnant. This month is my 6th month for Clomid, so I'm up to try anything. Last night was my first time trying Instead. It was easy to insert and I did not even notice it throughout the night. I wasn't sure how long I should leave it in (fertility purpose). Taking it out was not an issue.
Hopefully this will work for us as it has for many of the women who have tried this method of fertility assistance. We plan to use it daily during my week of ovulation. Unfortunately, my husband and I can't afford fertility through a specialist. The nearest physician is 45 minutes away and I would not be able to take off work for all the recommended appointments - not to mention the out of pocket expense b/c insurance does not cover fertility. If it works... I'll definitely update my post and let you know. Pros:Easy enough to use. I'll be trying it next time I have my period (since that's what it is intended for). I would recommend this item to a friend.Instead SoftcupBy Kim from Bayonne, N.J. on August 10, 2010 I only decided to try this because it was cheap. After using it, I left it in for a few hours and went to the bathroom to take it out. I could not get this thing out to save my life. I had to lay on the couch and having my husband reach around for it. How uncomfortable. After 20 mins, he got it. I'm sure my experience isn't typical, but I had some serious suction and won't be risking it again. Instead CupBy Stacie from Miami, Florida on August 10, 2010 I was able to insert the instead cup fairly easily, but removal was more tricky. It took me a few tries to hook my finger under the rim, and even though I carefully and slowly pulled it out, my hands were covered in blood. It was okay because I was at home, but I am not sure what I would do in a public restroom. I think that it would be best for lighter days. On my heavy days, I simply bleed too much. The cup was full after only a couple of hours! If you don't have a particularly heavy period, this might be a good alternative for you. I am going to try using it for conception "instead!" No pun intended!Pros:Fairly easy to insert.
Worked well for a few hours.
Comfortable.Cons:Tricky to remove, got blood all over my hands.
Did not last the 12 hours, only a couple of hours with my heavy flow.I would recommend this item to a friend.well...By ama from netherlands on August 8, 2010 i havent used this but intend to use it this cycle, however i ve bn reading the review and some rate it 1-3 star based on that they didnt concieve, and try to say those that used it successfuly arent telling the truth. for starters it is for AF not for fertility. even if its been used for fertility high cost fertility has been known to fail. Clomid and other fertility drugs doesnt work for every one. so if it didnt work for you so also does some fertility drugs not worked for someone else.I would recommend this item to a friend.I'M PREGNANT!By Megan from Monteverde, Costa Rica on July 31, 2010 I bought these for the purpose of trying to concieve. I recieved them right after my period on June 30 and ovulated July 3-8. Today is July 31st and we have confirmed that we are pregnant!!! I definately recommend this product to couples who have been trying for a baby but haven't had any luck! We have tried for a year, than I try these and successful right away! They keep the sperm right next to the cervix so if the little guys aren't good swimmers, they don't have to try as hard since they're right there! Pros:Super easy to use and no mess or leaking! We are pregnant too!!!I would recommend this item to a friend.Pregnant after 4 years of tryingBy Stacy from PA on July 30, 2010 My husband and I struggled with infertility for 4 years. After several IUIs and getting ready for IVF, we tried this product as our last hope. We got pregnant the first month of using these cups, and I feel that this was the boost that we needed for success. Pros:Mostly likely helped us get pregnantCons:A bit scary to take out, but not bad after you are used to it.I would recommend this item to a friend.will it be first time lucky? . . .By mischa from united kingdom on July 29, 2010 im 25 and just recieved my instead cups, going to try and use them to conceive this month, along with my ovulation kit. I opened the box for a look and read on how to use them, and nearly died of shock at how big they are!!!! I've read other reviews on how much success people have had, but also read some horror stories too!! Have to say the good far out weighs the bad, so im still going ahead and trying them. I'd be lying if i said i wasn't a little scared :-(, not worried so much that i wont conceive on the first try, but more of getting it stuck lol. Will definately keep you informed on how i get on.... wish me luck! xxxPros:the supposed simplicity of it and good value. Cons:the horror stories, hope mine doesn't turn out to be one of them. Fingers crossed! I would recommend this item to a friend.BFP ttc 1 1/2 years with MIFBy MLC76 from georgia on July 28, 2010 I decided to try these after reading all the reviews. We had male fertility issues (low count) and have been trying to conceive for a year and a half. The first month we used the i got a BFP. Maybe it was a coincidence. Maybe not.. but for the price it can not hur to try.
Good Luck Ladies!I would recommend this item to a friend.Instead Cups + Preseed = PREGNANCYBy preggo from USA on July 27, 2010 The cup + preseed was used 2 days in a row, about 2 days before ovulation. We couldn't do it the day before or on ovulation because we are in a long-distance relationship. In the end it didn't matter because we got pregnany anyway.
The semen was actually put in the cup then inserted in the vagina.Pros:It worksCons:n/aI would recommend this item to a friend.HOPES UP!By Sonia from Los Angeles California on July 20, 2010 TTC for 9 years, got pregnant in 08 but it ended in MC since then we can't get pregnant again But I got my hopes up again with all the great storys about (instead softcups) going to try it for the first time in July 2010 keep u post it. I would recommend this item to a friend.I got my BFP with Instead Softcups!!By Christie from Oklahoma on July 20, 2010 I decided to try these after reading all the positive reviews but I was still a little skeptical! We used them twice (the 2 days before O) and I got my BFP yesterday at 9 dpo!! I also drank FertilTea, used Preseed and DH took Fertility Blend... all of which we used in previous months but it was the first time using the Instead Cups so I think that's what did it!!Pros:It helped me get pregnant!Cons:They are a little gross taking out but not a big deal. I would recommend this item to a friend.Great Product, but Lacking InstructionsBy val from chico, ca on July 17, 2010 I'm reading on here that some women are unhappy with this product because it was hard to get in and take out. Yes, it takes a little practice, but I think one thing that should have been included in the instructions was the "out" phase. For me, it was a WHOLE LOT EASIER when I was "bearing down". Lowering your cervix makes it a lot easier to hook your finger on the rim, otherwise it is uncomfortable to get out. If you're already checking your cervix as an additional sign of fertility, this is a piece of cake. My husband and I have been ttc for 16 months now, and I'd say this is a great next step in ttc before doing the "turkey baster" method. I was amazed at how much it held and was able to literally push the semen up in there, without wasting anything. We'll see how this cycle goes, but we will definitely be using these until I get that positive hpt! I would recommend this item to a friend.Didn't fit meBy Lynn K. from Wisconsin on July 15, 2010 We've been trying for over 2 years so I thought I'd give these a try. To get comfortable with using them, I thought I'd try them out during AF to see how they 'fit'. I could not get them in properly... it seemed like there wasn't enough room or something as I could never get them 'hooked' inside at all and they wanted to pop out. I thought maybe I was too small, but I'm really not a small woman. I tried a few different cycles before I read somewhere that they may not fit well in women who have a tilted uterus! Perhaps that is why they would not sit properly for me. So, glad they work for others though I didn't get to try them myself.fingers crossed!By Lindsay S from Ohio on July 6, 2010 my husband and i have been trying to concieve our second child for a year and a half now. After a miscarriage at 12 weeks we started trying again almost immediately. it's been 6 months since then and this is the first month we're trying these. i really hope this product works as well as all the other reviews say.....we'll find out in a couple days!First TryBy Caley from Iowa on July 2, 2010 I will be using these hopefully next week, along with my fertility monitor. I do hope they work, but I noticed that there are many postings with no follow-ups. People write....I will keep you posted and let you know how it goes, but they never do. Waiting to seeBy Cookie from NYC on June 28, 2010 I have used red raspberry leaf supplements, drank green tea,and used the Cup and presed. The only down side is that me and DH did the deed a day before and a day after o. so I hope we didn't mess up our chances for this month. I am expected to have AF 6/16 which is tomorrow. we'll see what happens.IT WORKS!!By Erin from VA on June 21, 2010 My Husband and I where getting ready to start IVF when i started my next period! My husband has a low sperm count only 2% have good moblity. Doc said "u have to do IVF nothing else is going to work". I just happen to come across these cups and thought I will give it a try. I read about it working for all these couples. My husbands response " u can't believe everything u read". First month of the cups, WE'RE PREGNANT! Thank u to everyone who wrote a review!Giving it a try.By Brittany B from Statesville, NC on June 19, 2010 I have been TTC for about 4 years. I became pregnant 3/09, but it ended in m/c. So I'm trying again with no luck. I know that I more than likely won't be one of these lucky women who miraculously got pregnant the first month, but I'm going to give it a try. What do I have to lose? Will keep you posted. Wish me luck!!First time used this but...By Impartial (Mae) on June 17, 2010 I have never used this before this one time, but I see a lot of 'bitter' reviews. I just wanted to say that just because it did not work for you the first time, there is no reason to give 'one' star. You have to keep in mind that this product is not made specifically to get you pregnant. If you have not talked with a doctor about your fertility issue, then I suggest you do that first. It could be that either one of you (you and your partner) is having difficulty (infertile). There is no doubt that the product is easy to use and less costly than other methods, and that's what it should be rated on. Other expensive methods are not 100 % either. Hopefully, I'll be back to say I'm expecting!Just Started usingBy Jessica from San Mateo, CA on June 13, 2010 I just started using instead cups after 10 months of trying with no luck. I am about to turn 30 and thought it would be a pwice of cake getting pregnant, but as all my friends keep telling me the good news that they are expecting , I realize it is not as easy as I thought. I am hoping to update this review with good news! Please prey for me and wish me luck!!!Going to tryBy CJ on June 8, 2010 My husband and I have been TTC for 7 months now with no results. I know that experts say it may take at least a year before conceiving, but I saw this product online with its reviews and thought, well what's the harm in trying. So, I will be heading to the store tomorrow to purchase a package of them. Good luck to everyone TTC and those whom already have!Softcup experience unpleasantBy Lucy from Massachusetts on June 2, 2010 So I've only used the softcup once, but I have to say that the experience was not pleasant. Inserting the softcup was fine and it really does not feel like anything once its in properly (despite its enormous size!), but removing it was very very difficult and painful. I could not use one finger and had to fit two fingers in to grab it which was tricky. I experienced cramping afterwards for several hours. It may be that I pushed it in too far, but I think this is a little bit more than I wanted to deal with.Finally.... but it takes some practiceBy Laura from CA on May 29, 2010 Nine months ago I had a miscarriage. We waited 3 cycles before trying again. After trying different vitamins and supplements with no luck I decided to give this a try.
Last cycle I only used it twice. The first day I had to reinsert it (making a mess and actually loosing some semen in the process). The second day I was simply uncomfortable.
This cycle I decided it to give it an honest try and used it after every time we had sex. I am now pregnant. Perhaps a coincidence, but it is worth a try. Contrary to the instructions I do not sit on the toilette to insert it, rather I stay in bed on my back and lift my legs while inserting it (since I read that it i good to stay laying on your back to maximize chances). Sorry if this is TMI. I thought it may help somebody.Love these for ttc!!By Amy from Minneapolis, MN on May 26, 2010 I just got these in the mail today, I love them!! The directions are very easy to read and you can't even tell it's there!!! The representative suggested leaving it in for 6 hours and you can go to the bathroom like normal while it's in. I'm excited to start using the Early pregnancy tests I got from here too!! My horomone didn't show up till 8 weeks with my son so I need a test that shows lower levels. I love this website and will definatley be using it again :)Softcup as a fertility aidBy Christina from Chandler AZ on May 24, 2010 After recently having a miscarriage my husband and I started to try again. My first two cycles we had no luck. Then I found out about using softcups as a fertility aid. The first month we used them I got a positive pregnancy test! We are so pleased with them. We will use them again when we are trying to concieve. Thank you!!!!It worked on our very first try!By Melissa from San Antonio, TX on May 20, 2010 We started trying to get pregnant again in January of this year. We have IVF twins already, and the fertility specialist never found a reason for our previous trouble conceiving, so we figured we'd do it naturally this time or not at all. I found out about Softcups on this website after I'd gotten my third visit this year from Aunt Flo, and figured "what the heck." So, I tried Softcups with no real expectation that it would actually work. On May 2, the day before I expected my period, I found out I was pregnant again after only one try with Softcups. It worked for me! My natural miracle is due in January.Trying SoftcupsBy Jennifer B. from Seattle, WA on May 17, 2010 I just ordered softcups after reading all of these reviews. This is my first time using them. I am anxiously waiting to see my results this month. There are some many positive comments about this product that I can't help but wonder if these are true reviews of the product. OKAY LADIES ... Here we go ! By Heather Lane from Long Island, NY on May 6, 2010 Okay ! Okay ! My husband and I have surrendered to the Instead Soft cups ! Been TTC for 9 years with no luck . I've used the cups twice this week already and will do so every night until the end of the week ! So we shall see ! I will update for sure ! For me , they are VERY EASY to use ! I don't understand how some woman are having trouble. Everybody is different I suppose.Slides right in , Pops in place and im all good for 12 hours ! Comes right out and you can even see what has been laying on your cervix all night ( which I find relief in for some reason ) . Wish us luck and Congrats to all those new mommas and Baby dust to the rest of us ! =) I got my BFP this morning. Softcups worked for me!By Melissa from San Antonio, TX on May 6, 2010 After a round of IVF in January 2007 and the resulting twins born in September of that year, we decided to try for just one more baby. This time we decided to do it naturally or not at all, and started trying in January of 2010. Last month was the first month I tried Softcups, and I just got my BFP this morning, 5/2/2010. This product may not be a miracle for everyone, but it is definitely a miracle product for me! I honestly thought I couldn't get pregnant without medical help. I am happy to say that I was completely wrong!HopefulBy Janel L from San Jose, CA on May 4, 2010 After reading all the reviews and ttc for 2yrs with 2 miscarriages in that time frame, we are giving this a try. I repost again if it works. fingers crossedsoftcup as fertility aidBy -sarah from tx on April 29, 2010 So i read all the reviews and went out and bought a pack of these instead cups. I also purchased a pack of ovulation prediction kits, i wasnt sure it would work because we tried for over a year!. FInally after one month i am pregnant!. I was shocked when i saw the 5 positive hpts! THIS WAS THE BEST 6$ i ever spent!!! Keeping our fingers crossed!!By Sara H. from Denver, CO on April 25, 2010 My DH and I have been ttc for over 2 years. Three days ago I received a positive OPT. Than of course DH and I did the baby dance twice following with the instead softcup and pre-seed. Hope it works for us like everyone else! Keeping our fingers crossed for a wounderful BFP! Baby dust to all!!!DissapointedBy Jessica from Pasadena, MD on April 16, 2010 Last time I got pregnant I wasn't trying. This time were planning a pregnancy and the very first month of trying We tried everything I tried using these instead cups everyday during my fertile window after sex. I tried everything else including handstands after and propping my bottom up while I sleep after sex. It didn't work! The only good I can say is the instead cups are so comfortable I'd leave them in over night completely can not feel them and some mornings I almost forgot I was wearing it. I am not using any Instead cups anymore just trusting mother nature. It worked! By Kris on April 2, 2010 My husband and I have been ttc for about a year now with no luck at all. We're both very young (early 20's) and healthy so we didn't think this would be an issue for us, but apparently it is. I saw all these reviews and was admittedly very hesitant, but I thought it was worth a shot. They are cheap and easy to find. The first cycle we tried these I got pregnant, but ended up having a chemical pregnancy. But my RE says the good news is that I got pregnant. Although my pregnancy didn't last, that word "pregnant" on my digital HPT was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen and gave me so much hope. The ONLY downside is that I personally had a hard time getting them out the next morning, but this is a small price to pay to get pregnant. I will use these for every cycle from now on. Didn't help us but will keep tryingBy Theresa A from Chicago, IL on April 1, 2010 After reading the rave reviews here about women trying these and becoming pregnant within the first month (and some after YEARS of infertility) I HAD to try these. Well they did not work for us the first time (which really makes me wonder about these women who claim they been trying for 2-4 years and all of a sudden they became pregnant using these for the first time.....seriously???). But I will probably keep using them for future cycles because the concept makes sense (keeping the sperm close to the cervix). It was interesting to note that this company filed to use and promote these softcups as fertility aid with the Food and Drug Administration in 2006 but they did not get approved. I tried to get more info on it but couldn't find any. It's not to say they can't get approved for it some point in the future.
I read the directions and even watched an instructional video on their website about how to properly use it. I found them very easy to insert. Just fold it in half and put in like you would a tampon. We used them right after doing the BD. Since you can keep them in for 12 hours max, I would sleep with it in. Take it out first thing in the morning. Taking them out takes practice but it is not that hard once you get the hang of it.
AMAZED!By Carol from FL on March 30, 2010 I gotta say I am truly amazed. I don't know if it was the cups or the fertil tea that did the job. All I know is I used both of them during one cycle and now am 4 wks pregnant. My husband and I had been trying for 6 months with no luck. I am going on to my second child, but for some reason I just wouldn't get pregnant. I was so ready to see a fertility dr., so glad I didn't and gave this a shot !Softcups for Fertility- REALLY WORK!By Audrey from Ohio on March 20, 2010 My husband and I are truly amazed at this product! We have been trying to conceive our third child for 15 months with no luck. Our first two babies only took 6 months, so after a trip to the doctor reported no health problems, we were frustrated that we could not conceive. I was on the website buying my supply of pregnancy test strips and I happened to read all the great reviews this got. I figured $7 was worth a try. Well, 6 softcups and one month later, I am pregnant! Thank you for this miracle product!!!!Stunning productBy Laurika A from SA on March 19, 2010 The first time that I've used the softcup fertility aid, I got pregnant. It is a stunning product and I will recomend it to anybody!Perfect aid for TTC and having an erectile disfunctionBy Beth G. from San Francisco, CA on March 15, 2010 I tried to conceive for several months, but because of too much stress, my boyfriend started having an erectile disfunction and couldn't ejaculate inside me. Yet he was fine doing it "outside." This is where Softcup was a great help! I couldn't believe it but I did conceive the first month we tried it - and the stress "to perform" was alleaviated! I would advise anybody with an erectile disfunction/older partner/health issues, etc. to try Softcup! It makes miracles happen!WOWBy Jess from ohio on March 12, 2010 So after reading all the reviews I decided to try them to help become pregnant. I figured it was 8 dollars and if didn't work I could use them for my period. My husband and I have been trying for 9 months. We used them this past month and I was shocked when I got a positve pregnancy test this month. Thank you so much. I would recomend anyone who is ttc to try them ! ood luck to all ttc!I GOT PREGNANT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 2 YEARS THE FIRST MONTH OF USING THESEBy Mariah from Nashville, Tennessee USA on March 11, 2010 As I said in the title. I got pregnant while using sofcups. I had been ttc for 2 years with no luck and that is why I decided to try these. The bad news is that I miscarried at 7 weeks on 3/16/2010. As soon as I recover from my miscarriage I plan to use these again. The only bad thing that I experienced with these is that after the first time inserting the cup, I thought it was stuck and I couldn't get it out. Now with practice i can get them out. amazing productBy candy from tennessee on March 10, 2010 we have been trying to concieve for almost a year now, and then i heard about this product. My opk was positive on march 1 and we used this product that night then again the next day, and one more time the following night. I got a positive pregnancy test yesterday morning!! Using soft-cup can hurtBy Christina K from Michigan on March 8, 2010 I used soft-cups for my periods in the past and after inserting it I noticed that I had a pinchy feeling. I ignored it and after I removed it the pain went away. I used it for the next day and again the pain was there. It was pushing on a nerve and was quite painful. I also used it for fertility but since it can cause a nerve issue, i cannot use it anymore. Just wanted to make sure that it was known that this can happen. I contacted the company and they said that they were aware that this can happen, though it is an uncommon experience. My best to you all.we will seeBy cyndi from alabama on February 25, 2010 i just started using the cups.. so far i like them. they are way easier to use and more conveinent.. but i find them hard to insert.. and at times uncomfortable.. but easy to remove.. but better than trying to keep the semen in by lying down.. hey are great as far as holding it goes.. but we will see if i get pregnant.. its only been three days but im convident..Working on it..By Becky from North Carolina on February 21, 2010 I have been trying for over 3yrs to get pregnant and had a few miscarriages a long the way. It is really hard when you are actually trying. I have watched 6,.... yes 6 of my friends get pregnant on accident within the first 4 months of me TTC. It hurts! This month I have done a few things different. # 1, I have quit smoking. Number 2, I started charting my BBT. And 3rd my husband & I used Instead Soft-cups. I used them 3 days before OV, the day of ovulation & the day after. I also used an OVPK Test. We would do the BD at night and he would ejaculated in the cup so it wouldn't get everywhere. They were very easy to use and to insert!!! And not at all messy. I put it in after wards and went to sleep with it in. Never felt it inside me. It was so comfortable. I would have it in for 10 - 12 hours. Anyway I put this up because I have read about all these women using the Instead Soft-cups for TTC and getting pregnant in the 1st month of using them. I am a skeptic. I don't believe all the stories. I will find out if they have worked for me ( if I'm pregnant) in 5-6 days. Around the Jan. 27-28th, 2010. I will write back if I am pregnant. I pray every night for God to bless me with another child. I also pray for a girl this time around, but I will be happy with either.

Mommy 2 beBy Alicia C. from Lake Butler,FL on February 13, 2010 I bought instead after my husband and I were told that we couldn't conceive on our own, that we would need IVF,that is what infertility clinic told us 7 weeks ago.My husband had went through a vasectomy reversal and was only able to get his right side hooked up.His count 7weeks ago was 63 million, but only 1 million normal.Needless to say during time of ovulation we used the instead cups, and we are 7 weeks pregnant after 4 years of trying :) we are excited, we used the instead cups along with my husband on clomid and fertiliaid..can't wait to see our babylast chance for usBy sharon D. from AB, Canada on February 12, 2010 softcup is our last chance before going to IVF, we're booked to start next month. We've been trying for over 2 years with a low sperm count. Lets hope it works.
Its hard to put in initially and you have to pretend
your pushing out a baby to get it out.
I dont recommend having your husband produce semen and then putting it in, way too awquard and messy.
We're doing our last chance IUI tommorow and I plan on shoving it in right after. waitingBy Jen n from Illinois on February 7, 2010 I have used these before for my cycle and liked them alright, then while seaRching the web for any info or tips for TTC couples when I came across these so I bought them thinking why not can't hurt. The first attempt, I had to remove it within an hour. But I decided to try again the next time and it was completely comfortable and I was able to keep it in for hours. Wish me luck! Best wished to all of you TTC :)TTC 17 months and this did the trickBy In Shock from DC on January 27, 2010 DH and I had been TTC for a year and a half with no success and with no real reason why it just wasn't working for us. Charting and temping showed that I had an average luteal phase of only 11 days. I ordered ovulation test strips from here and they were actually much clearer for me to read than drugstore tests (I was using Clear Blue OT's but the lines always were fuzzy/blurry to me). Anyhow, I saw that this site was also selling Instead cups which I already had at home because I sometimes used them for AF. I figured why nhot give it a try. I got a positive OT and did the BD that day and the next and inserted a cup immediately afterwards and left it there for appx 10 hours while I went around my daily business. Thrilled to say that after a year and a half of trying I got my BFP today! Maybe it was just cosmic timing,... but i would still definitely recommend this to anyone has not had any success so far. It's a miracle!!!!By Leah from UK on January 14, 2010 This is a fantastic product. We decided to give it a go after 18 months of TTC. We used it along with PRESEED. It didn't work for us in the first month of trying but we decided not to give up and we tried it in the next cycle as well and this time it really worked!!!!!!!! I'm pregnant!!!!!It works! from Chicago, IL on January 10, 2010 I stumble upon Instead softcup when I was researching about TTC. We were trying for 4 cycles, no success. We even used, OPK, BBT, OVwatch, everything you name it. So I thought what the heck, got nothing to loose, my DH was skeptical, using the 1 cycle, I got a BFP! We both are overjoyed!
My DH's sperm's count was fine, however quantity was low and odd shaped. It was ironic when we found out about his results, we were worried we have to go the IVF route. In 24 hours, we found out we are pregnant.Thank you thank you Instead cup, not a miracle!By Brittani M from Laurel Ms on January 9, 2010 I am Brittani from Laurel Ms. My husband and I have been ttc our 3rd child (lost baby #2 in 2nd trimester May 09) I had been on clomid for about 4 mos, and decided to add these to our ttc list. Well, it didn't help, and althoug they were easy to inset (if I was inserting them right) and they were comfy, but I went through pure hell trying to get the things out. They didn't help us, but that's not to say they won't help you!!!!Great product, hard to take outBy Jenn from O-town Purr on January 4, 2010 I had this sitting in my bathroom for almost a year beucase i purchased it for mentrual while I was on a vacation. I just read all the reviews and will be posting soon for TTC purposes. I used for first time 1/21/10, so we will see if I get a + preg test. The only complaint I have is removing it. I had to read in the internet alternative ways to take out.. Advise.. Squad on floor as if you are going #2, insert your finger, you will feel it but still cant reach it, push as if you are going #2, and it will be way easier to reach and take out. Good Luck everyone!Softcup fertilty aidBy SF from Woodbridge, NJ on January 1, 2010 I just bought a box. Hubby and I are going to try these out during ovulation week. I'm sooo praying this will work. TTC for 5 monthsBy Rachael M. from Shawnee, OK on January 1, 2010 Hi I would just like to share my story. It is not complete but we will see how it ends. I am 24 years old. My husband & I have been TTC for 5 months. It is hard when you are actually trying. I have watched 6, yes 6 of my friends get pregnant on accident within the first 4 months of TTC. It hurts! This month I have done a few things different. # 1, I have quit smoking. The second is I started charting my BBT. And 3rd My husband & I used Instead Softcups. I used them 3 days before OV, the day of & the day after. I also used an OVPK. We would do the BD at night and he would ejaculated in the cup so it wouldn't get everywhere. They were very easy to use!!! And not at all messy. I put it in afterwards and went to sleep with it in. Never felt it inside me. It was so comfortable. I would have it in for 10 - 12 hours. Anyway I put this up because I have read about all these women using the Instead Softcups for TTC and getting pregnant in the first month of using these Softcups.
