Pregnancy Plus Prenatal Vitamins

Called "the best prenatal vitamins" by customers because of their small, easy-to-swallow size.

Pregnancy Plus Prenatal is an OBGYN-formulated prenatal supplement for pregnant and nursing mothers, and can also be an excellent nutritional choice for women who are actively trying-to-conceive. These once daily prenatal vitamins are all-natural, and guaranteed to delivery high quality and potency 100% of the RDA of essential nutrients needed for a healthy pregnancy.

With no artificial additives or preservatives, Pregnancy Plus Prenatal provides just the right amount (not too much, not too little) of key nutrients like iron, vitamin C, vitamin A (as beta-carotene), and folic acid—important in preventing birth defects. It also includes antioxidants to cleanse the body of oxidizing free radicals and promote optimum reproductive health.

The small, easy-to-swallow pills should be easy on early pregnancy sensitive stomachs. Pregnancy Plus Prenatal reviews indicate that women do not experience nausea or other side effects when taking these vitamins. Another plus? They're a great value at less than $9 a month.

You have many choices when it comes to choosing prenatal vitamins, and potency and quality can be hard to compare between brands. Pregnancy Plus Prenatal Vitamins were randomly included by ConsumerLabs, an independent consumer research firm, in a 2007 study on over-the-counter multivitamins. The results? Pregnancy Plus Prenatal received high marks across all label ingredient claims and quality standards, including purity and efficient absorption. Over half of the other leading vitamin brands tested failed key benchmarks for ingredient content, presence of contaminants and rate of tablet dissolution.

Recommended Use: Take one Pregnancy Plus Prenatal Vitamin daily.

Folic Acid | 800 mcg

According to the most recent FDA recommendations, a daily folic acid supplement of 800 mcg is highly recommended, especially for women who are trying to conceive or in the first trimester of pregnancy. According to numerous studies, folic acid has been shown to substantially reduce the risk of birth defects, specifically the neural tube defect known as Spina Bifida. Doctors even recommend folic acid supplementation for all women of childbearing age (as many pregnancies are unplanned).

As beta carotene, the healthiest form of Vitamin A. Fights infections and supports the healthy fetal development of the eyes.

Iron | 27 mg

Essential to the formation of red blood cells and healthy fetal development.

Vitamin C | 60 mg

Helps you absorb iron and is vital to fetal tissue and cellular growth. Vitamin C also plays an important role in fighting infection, tissue repair, and healing.

Vitamin B6 & B12

Helps fetal tissue and skin development, supports brain function, prevents anemia and supports normal function of enzymes systems.

Vitamin D | 400 IU

Vitamin D supports fetal development of healthy teeth and bones.

From Iodine and Zinc to Copper and Vitamin K, Pregnancy Plus is rich in vitamins and minerals central to a strong reproductive system, to fetal development, and to both mother and baby health during pregnancy and nursing.

A good prenatal multivitamin! :)
March 31, 2013
I really like that these vitamins do not have have most of the toxic garbage ingredients that most vitamins have these days... There have been many reviews about the terrible smell, however, I find that the smell is nothing compared to the disgusting manure smell that most other softgel vitmins have. It does have a smell, but it is not too bad, especially in comparison... The vitamins seem to have pretty good nutritional value, but I would caution those who use them to eat a meal with it... They make me feel very sick to my stomach when I do not eat, or if I eat too little or too much sugar when taking them.
Pros:
As stated above, there is a smell, but it is not too bad. They have good nutritional value, are reasonably priced, and do not have most common toxic junk ingredients like magnesium sterate and lower/ less effective forms of the nutients... That is very hard to find these days!
Cons:
Be sure to eat a real meal when you take these! They make me very sick to my stomach when I do not eat, eat too little, or eat too much sugar when taking them :(

My wife's only complaint with this product is the smell. Right now smells send her to drive the porcelain bus. So I have to get one out of the bottle for her. Other than that no complaints.
Pros:
Not the size of a horse pill.

Great product - complete
August 12, 2011
The only thing I didn't like about this is the coating. When I used it 3 years ago, it had a yellow gel coating that masked the smell and taste a little more than it does now. But overall, it is a great product.
Pros:
Complete
Cons:
Smell, taste

Pretty Good
July 23, 2011
I have used these for a while now because compared to other brands they have better ingredients and more 100% of more vitamins. They smell and taste awful though. it is a bit hard to stomach them for that reason. I really wish they came in a softgel!
Pros:
Most complete Prenatal vitamin I've seen
Cons:
The smell and taste are awful!

Really great vitamin
June 19, 2011
First, I will start by saying that I am not pregnant. I am taking this prenatal for my hair, skin and nails and in preparation for one day becoming pregnant. Therefore, I have not shown it to a doctor for review of the vitamin amounts necessary for pregnancy. However, from what I have found online, they seem pretty much right, though may require a calcium supplement (at a different time, because I've read calcium hinders the absorption of other vitamins). I am giving this vitamin five stars because they are relatively small and easy to swallow for a multivitamin. They have a pretty nasty smell if you put your nose up to the bottle and sniff, but as long as I don't breathe in when I'm getting one out and I take it, the smell is not a problem. This smell is not nearly as bad as many vitamins, and I am very sensitive to smells. I wouldn't let one linger in my mouth, but there is no aftertaste. Most importantly, these vitamins do not make me feel ill after taking them. Nearly every multi vitamin I've taken makes me feel horrible for about an hour afterward. Once I've taken this one, there are no after effects. It's pretty great.
Pros:
Easy to swallow No aftertaste No queasy side effects
Cons:
Slight smell

Prenatal review
May 25, 2011
I just found out I was pregnant and purchased these pills. When I went to the doctor they prescribed me some vitamins and I looked at the ingredient list and these pills were sooo much better! They give you everything you need. I do not have any morning sickness yet (6weeks along) but when I take these i do get an upset stomach. I decided to cut them in half and take one with lunch and one with dinner.
Pros:
Easy to swallow Great percentage of vitamins
Cons:
gets me sick (but thats for me)

Great Vitamins
February 3, 2011
I've been taking these vitamins for a year now. I started taking them when I first found out I was pregnant last Feb. and am continuing now that I am nursing. Very easy to swallow! I used the early pregnancy tests and found out I was pregnant a week before my expected period! I will use them again the next time I try to conceive. So much cheaper than store bought tests.
Pros:
Easy on stomach Easy to swallow
Cons:
Low % of Calcium. Need an additional supplement to meet calcium needs.

Best Prenatals Around
May 2, 2010
These are by far my favorite prenatals and I am only sad I didn't discover them until my second pregnancy. They are tiny and easy to swallow - don't get stuck in your throat and leave a horrible gag-worthy taste. I took these for my whole pregnancy and 9 months after since I was breastfeeding.

This is a great prenantal vitamin, it has everything you need for you and baby, and the best thing about it is it is significantly smaller than most vitamins, which is perfect for me, because I can't swallow pills at all. Very good product!

Great Vitamin
June 13, 2008
I picked these out of many out there because it has the most complete combination of vitamins and minerals. Many pre-natal vitamins contain more than 7,000 of retinol vitamin A which is risky while pregnant, this vitamin has a safe 5,000 of beta carotene.

I absolutely love this vitamin! Only having to take it once a day and the fact that it is a lot smaller than most vitamins I've tried are big pluses. Also, I just feel better overall when I'm taking it, like it's a higher quality, and it really does make a difference.
