Which male fertility-enhancing supplement is right for me?
At Early-Pregnancy-Tests.com we sell two fertility-enhancing supplements for men: FertilAid for Men and Fertility Blend for Men. FertilAid for Men is a doctor-developed male fertility-enhancing formula that has been clinically shown to improve sperm quality. This natural, non-prescription formula combines a complete multivitamin with a proprietary blend of fertility-enhancing nutrients. Fertility Blend for Men is a dietary supplement that combines key vitamins, minerals, antioxidant nutrients, and herbs, designed to promote male reproductive health.
Our customers often ask which of these two products we recommend. At Early-Pregnancy-Tests.com we are confident in the quality, safety and efficacy of both products. To help you decide which fertility supplement is right for you, we developed this buyer’s guide to discuss the similarities and differences between the products. But, remember, whether you choose FertilAid for Men or Fertility Blend for Men you can be assured you are getting a high quality, scientifically-based fertility supplement.
Similarities:
L-carnitine: An important similarity between FertilAid for Men and Fertility Blend for Men is that both products contain L-carnitine. L-carnitine is a vitamin-like compound that helps to transport fatty acids into the energy powerhouse of the cell (called the mitochondria) where they can be “burned” for energy. Carnitine supplementation is useful for men with low sperm motility because it helps the sperm cells produce energy, increasing the ability of sperm to move quickly through the female reproductive tract. Clinical research has shown that supplemental L-carnitine increases sperm concentration, improves sperm motility, and supports normal sperm cell size and shape (morphology).
Antioxidants: In recent years, fertility experts have pointed to oxidative stress (a physiological condition that occurs when there are excessive amounts of free radicals circulating in the body) as a leading cause of male infertility. Like all other cells in the body, sperm cells are constantly assaulted by free radicals. But, as it turns out, sperm cells have less effective antioxidant mechanisms to keep free radicals at bay, and are especially vulnerable to damage from free radicals due to the high amounts of fats contained in their cell membrane. As a result, sperm cells are often subjected to oxidative stress, leading to reduced sperm count, poor sperm motility, and even DNA damage. Researchers now believe that up to 80% of all cases of male infertility can be attributed to oxidative stress. The good news is that research also shows that supplementing with antioxidant nutrients can help prevent free radical damage. Both FertilAid for Men and Fertility Blend for Men contain significant amounts of key antioxidant nutrients, including Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and selenium. In addition to these nutrients, FertilAid for Men contains grape seed extract and CoQ10, while Fertility Blend contains green tea (rich in antioxidant compounds called polyphenols) and the herb Dong Quai, which contains the antioxidant ferulic acid.
Cost: At Early-Pregnancy-Tests.com, both FertilAid for Men and Fertility Blend for Men are available for purchase for $28.95 per 1-month supply.
Differences:
Clinical Research: In 2006, FertilAid for Men was the focus of a randomized, double-blind clinical trial to determine the effect of the product on men with abnormal sperm parameters (as defined by the World Health Organization). The results of this study indicate that taking FertilAid for Men results in a “significant improvement” in the number of motile sperm, thereby increasing the odds of conception. To date, there is no clinical study data available to validate the benefits of Fertility Blend for Men.
Proprietary Blend: In addition to L-carnitine, FertilAid for Men contains two other male fertility-enhancing herbs in its proprietary blend, Maca and Asian Ginseng. Maca is a traditional herb that has been used medicinally for years to enhance fertility and libido. Numerous studies have shown that supplementation with maca improves sperm count, as well as sperm motility, semen volume, and overall sperm quality. Asian Ginseng has been used in traditional medicine as a tonic for male reproductive health. Fertility Blend for Men contains green tea and Dong quai in its proprietary blend, both of which have antioxidant properties.
Multivitamin: An important difference between FertilAid for Men and Fertility Blend for Men is that FertilAid contains a complete multivitamin. As a result, men taking FertilAid do not need to take an additional multivitamin. Many men appreciate the convenience and cost savings associated with not having to take a multivitamin along with their fertility-enhancing supplement.
Companion Products: FertilAid for Men was designed to promote overall reproductive health in men. Since its release, two companion products have been introduced, Count Boost for Men and Motility Boost for Men. These products are intended for men who have been diagnosed specifically with low sperm count and/or low sperm motility, and are most effective when taken in conjunction with FertilAid for Men. When taken together, these products give men with low sperm quality all of the nutrients they need to improve the quantity and health of their sperm.
