I started using the monitor on my next cycle and I also had an appointment with a fertility specialist. To our surprise and joy, we got pregnant on the first try with this product! We are only a month or so pregnant, and are looking forward to the next 36 weeks. For anyone who is trying to conceive, I would completely recommend this fertility monitor. It works!I can't say the same for the pregnancy tests that came with the kit since I took 2 about 2 dys apart and both were negative. I waited another day and then took a digital Clear Blue test and it was positive. Just to make sure, we also had it confirmed by our doctor. All that matters to us is that the monitor worked! Worth the money for sure! Pros:It works, ease of use.Cons:Price (shipping and duty were quite a bit to Canada).I would recommend this item to a friend.Not working for me so far..... The first month, it gave me 1 day at low on CD6 and then 19 more days of "High" even when BBT charting showed I ovulated on CD15. I stuck with it because everything I had read indicated it takes a couple of months to "learn" you. So....this month - it asked for a test on CD6, got a low. Didn't ask for another test until CD 9, got a low. The next time it asked for a test was CD 12, still a low. I'm now at CD 13 and I'm still getting lows. I have been charting and using OPKs for 9 months now and I have always ovulated between CD 14 and CD 16. So, I gotta ask - what good is this thing? Pros:I had thought it would be easy and I could do away with the BBT charting and the OPKs as they have been rather difficult for me to use because of the precise timing needed. I liked the idea that you have a 6 hour window with the monitor.Cons:It hasn't worked for me! I got married in May 2011 and just stopped taking birth control that month. I bought this complete kit in early July 2011 after month one of not getting pregnant, using the online calculators. I came to realize that my body needed time to get re-adjusted to not being on the pill. Month one of using this kit, I recieved about 10 high days, with no peak days. (Realized then that the machine was getting used to me AND that my body was trying to continue to regulate itself.) Month two, I recieved one high day, two peak days, and another high day around CD18. I loved this product because it showed me that I ovulated 4 days past 'normal.' I learned that I concieved July 23rd or 24th, and my missed period day was August 4th. I took a test that following Sunday, August 7th and it was positive!! Seriously, I simply bought this product because I was 33 and didn't want to be the one of many who dilly dally's and guesses at when she's ovulating. This product is great! I tried everything short of seeing a specialist. We were considering going to see a fertility specialist when my friend told me about the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor. I did some research on it and saw wonderful reviews for the product. I felt like I had nothing to lose so why not try it. The monitor arrived quickly and using it was super easy. It told me that I was indeed ovulating and also that I was ovulating earlier than expected! The online ovulation calendars were off by a week!! Amazing how a couple days changes things completely. My first period using the monitor was April 16th, 2011. We found out I was pregnant on May 17th, 2011 which also happens to be our Anniversary date as well! I couldnt believe it worked on the very first try! We are expecting our first baby in January 2012. This product is a blessing and I would (and have) recommended it to anyone that is serious about conceiving! By Karyn from Alberta, Canada on March 29, 2011 The only reason I havent given it a 5 star is that I'm yet to conceive! However, the ease of use is great! If you read the manual well once, you are good to go. The only thing that may make the monitor give you false or inconsistant result, is missing a test. I am very irregular with my cycle since being off the pill almost 1 year ago. I range anywhere from 36 - 60 days! Needless to say, its alot of waiting. I am into my 2nd cycle with using the monitor so we will see what happens. The manual says it may take 2-3 cycles in order for the monitor to get to know you and your cycle, and then it should be more accurate. My first cycle it prompted me to start testing on day 6 with a low fertility rating until day 9 where I got my first "high" fertility reading. I had a "high" reading from day nine and never did get a peak reading. However, I slept in and missed a test on day 20 of my cycle, so I could have messed that up for myself. Note to self...set an alarm! 2nd cycle, it prompted me to test again on day 6 with a low reading until day 9 where it went to "high". I am now on day 12 of my cycle with "high" still. We will see what happens. I am crossing my fingers that all of these 5 star reviews where the monitor worked the first month, arent only from women with regular cycles. I hope this fancy little machine works for us irregulars too! Pros:-Easy to read/follow instructions!-Gives you a feeling of taking control (as much as you can) of your fertility. I'm 36 years old, so didn't want to leave it to chance, so I bought the fertility monitor in time for my next cycle which started on 25th Feb. Pressed the m button and off I went, taking the tests beginning on day 6. I took all 10 tests, and was really surprised to discover that my ovulation day was not even close to when I thought it was. I used to use all the internet online predictions and those ovulation tests that only predict your 2 peak fertility days to predict when was the best time to conceive. Obviously I have been totally wrong all the time. Turns out ovulation day was on day 15!!!! My cycle is usually 27 days long. Anyway, just took a test 24th March, and it's positive. Funny thing is though, that I did a test on 20th, 2 days before my period was due and it was negative. All I can say is, this product cuts out all those months of waiting and faffing around. Worth every penny as I've gotten pregnant first time round. I started using the monitor on October 29th (6th day). I received my first high fertility just 4 days later. I continued to receive high fertility readings till November 14th and finally stopped feeding the monitor. Never got a peak reading and after being a few days late I took a pregnancy test and got a positive reading. So for me it seemed to have worked. After 7 months & 1 chemical pregnancy I was stressed, anxious and just desperate for a solution. While I haven't had a positive HPT yet, I'm much more hopeful today than ever before. Using this monitor, in conjunction with monitoring my BBT, I was able to precisely identify my ovulation day. The monitor showed a positive (3rd tier) the day before ovulation and the day of ovulation. Experts say the 3 days prior to ovulation are the best days to BD. If I was only doing BBT, I would have missed the day before ovulation - but the monitor clued me in! Turns out I ovulated on CD23 - nowhere near the stereotypical CD14. Maybe this has been my problem for the past half a year. I hope so! I have pre-menstrual bleeding that last about 4-5 days before the actual "real" bleeding starts. This is very frustrating because I was not sure if I should count the pre-blood as day 1 or when the "real" bleeding started as day 1. So using an ovulation calculator didn't work. I was searching the internet came across this product and took a chance. The first month the monitor had to get adjusted to my cycle. It read high fertility for several days, but never peaked. A progesterone level was checked and it showed that I did ovulate that month. This is the second month I used this monitor and I peaked on days 14 and 15. I counted the day of the "real" bleeding as day 1. This would make my luteal phase at 17 days and not the average 14 days. On the days 14 and 15, I had the obvious signs of ovulation. I had totally missed these signs before because I was going by the ovulation calculator. WOW, I was way off on my ovulation days. This product is AWESOME! The earliest I can take a pregnancy test is this Friday. My monitor showed that I did not ovulate the first month, however, I had my yearly exam and my doctor completed a progesterone blood test to indicate whether or not I actually did ovulate. The labs came back that in fact, I DID ovulate that first month. I read one other review that said that it worked after 2 months when the monitor got to know them. Has anyone else ran into this problem/issue? The monitor is basically saying that from day # 7 of my cycle to day # 25 of my cycle my fertility is High (2 bars). One word of wisdom- make sure you use it first thing in the morning. I tested at 11am for one month, and it continuously reported I was at low fertility. I slept in on the weekend and tested first thing when I got up, and sure enough, it showed I was ovulating. With my first one I am very glad I used it because I thought I ovulated on day 14 since I have a 28 day cycle. I was wrong. The monitor showed me I ovulate on days 10 or 11 usually. In the 3.5 years that my husband and I have been together we just weren't getting any results. I was starting to think that maybe he was sterile or I was infertile. I read in a magazine that if you are REALLY trying to start a family then go ahead and invest in a fertility monitor. I read so many rave reviews about this particular one that I decided to bite the bullet and have an open mind. Not only did the kit come with everything that you needed (I was VERY impressed that even the batteries were included!) but the price wasn't all that exorbitant! And on top of that, we became pregnant the first time we used it! We didn't even have sex on the specific day that it showed that i was at my most fertile! I believe that we had sex the day after. Regardless, this little gadget has given me such happiness and hope! I am now 4 months pregnant! My sister-in-law confessed to me that she too has been trying to conceive and I told her all about the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor which she rushed out to get as soon as she could. Obviously I HIGHLY recommend this product to any couple who is having trouble starting their family. Two thumbs up! Or rather 4 thumbs up! It worked on the first month. My doctor told me to record my basel temp. also. The monitor told me I was ovulating two days before my temp. would have. This might have been the problem before. Maybe we were waiting too long. Its very simple to use. Just collect urine in a cup and five minutes later you have a result. Its great when you are trying to conceive and planning the intercourse around that egg. After 2 years trying using conventional ovulation sticks, I switched to this figuring it costs less than a fertility specialist. After a few months getting my cycles read in, the monitor started predicting ovulation. I'm irrregular so some times it was day 14, sometimes day 21 and sometimes not at all in a month. Then I fell pregnant. Miscarried at 8 weeks and 2 months later fell pregnant again. Miscarried at 5 weeks but 2 months later fell pregnant again. Third times the charm; I'm 32 weeks pregnant. Did I mention I'm 43 so falling pregnant without fertility drugs seems a mini miracle. Love this product. Takes away the guessing and gives you about 5 days to try (unlike conventional ovulation sticks which leave you scrambling to have baby sex that night whether or not you're in the mood or have other plans!). And it was delivered quickly as well.My cycle is around 33 days and was very surprized (in the first use of the monitor)when I got an egg on day 15. Especially surprised when I had no other ovulatory symptoms. The symptoms (gooey cm) arrived on day 19 so I did a separate ovulation test and it said I was surging on day 19. Day 33 my period came. I'm hoping was it was just the first time using the monitor and it detects the surge on the right day next month. Other wise it was a waste of money. Furthermore, it bases when it asks you to test based on your last cycle so if you have highly irregular cycles it won't do you any good. I could not believe it so I went to store and purchased another Clear Blue home pregnancy kit ( which included 3 tests) All 3 tests came back positive. I went for bloodwork on Friay, April 25 and the doctor called on Saturday, April 26th and confirmed that I am pregnant. I feel so blessed and amazed and cannot believe using this for one month helped us get pregnant. It is expensive but it is worth it if you really want to have a baby and get pregnant.
