Great thermometer with memory function. But it is kind of useless to me since I am not familiar with Fahrenheit. Usually you can switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit but this one won't let you. Disappointed it wasn't mentioned anywhere!

The Digital Basal Thermometer is very easy to use. And helps you to pinpoint about the time you will ovulate. And if your periods are irregular, as mine tend to be, this is really a great tool to use to pinpoint when you will ovulate.

I bought two of these actually. I started getting erratic temps the 2nd month, so I switched over to the next one and it was working great. I use both of them to compare, and the readings are .5 degrees off from eachother. Now the other one is starting to act funny. I'm wondering if these come with really cheap batteries?

I have looked at lots of these thermometers and this one is the most basic but still the best.
For the price, it is completly worth it

I do like this thermometer but I wish it had a memory. It would be helpful to have that, especially on weekends...I could go back to sleep after taking my morning temp and not have to worry about it. That's my only "complaint" if you can call it that, b/c it's such a great and reliable thermometer!

Overall I have been very happy with the thermometer. I have been tracking BBT along with ovulation testing and using the saliva microscope. I have long, irregular cycles so for me it's been nice to be able to check various signs of ovulation so I feel more confident in the results. TTC can bring on paranoia and worry! =) A couple times when I went back to check my last temperature reading so I could record it, when I pressed the button the display would glitch and then go to the 97.70 starting temp screen. Not a big deal since I usually remembered the temp within a 100th of a degree.

I have been using this thermometer for 9 cycles. I always see a clear rise and pattern after ovulation. This product is great and helps me keep track of my cycle. The only thing I would add is a light to the digital screen.

Sensitive, but takes patience

I was using the Up&Up brand BBT from Target and was continually getting the same temp. I know it wasn't the battery b/c I just bought it. I think it just wasn't very accurate, so I decided to order this BBT. It is much more sensitive and accurate! It does take the full two mintues to beep, but I would rather wait a little longer and have accurate results than rush and get a bad temp.

I ordered one of these thermometers recently as a replacement, because I lost the one that I'd had for four years. My old one had no issues at all (I of course did have to change the batteries a few times as needed). Then, a few days after ordering my replacement, I found the old one, so now I have a spare. :)

The beeps are quiet enough that they don't wake up my toddler son, who sleeps in our room, but loud enough that they alert me when the temp has finished registering.

I am happy with this product. It comes in a nice plastic case to store it in so it stays clean. It has an automatic memory that lets you take temp, finish waking up (or go back to sleep) and record it later. However, the power button is very sensitive. It's easy to hit it twice in a row which is only bad if you just took your temp and turn it off with out looking and then when it accidentally turns back on it erases the memory so you have to retake your temp. Lastly, it has a nice quiet timer that lets you know when your temp it done and it won't wake anyone that might be sleeping nearby.

Generally it's easy to use and the save function is brilliant for people like me in the mornings.

Sometimes it beeps four times when I turn it on and i have to turn it on and off a few times to make it work properly, which isn't bad, but when you are trying to avoid frustration and waking up the person next to you, it can be really annoying to be fussing with a beeping thermometer.

sometimes it doens't work correctly when turned on and needs to be turned on and off to correct.

I have been using this thermometer for two months now. Some days it works great, others it will sit for three minutes and still not be finished. I wished I would have spent a little more money and bought a better quality. It does what I need and works fine for now. Just know you will need to be patient to use this on a daily basis.

Some days it takes more than two minutes to read.

It's just like a regular thermometer, only it gives one extra decimal at the end (ex 00.00 rather than 00.0) The accuracy is only guaranteed to the tenth (00.0)

It is VERY SLOW. A few mornings I'm laying in bed, desperately needing to pee, and am waiting for the silly thermometer to beep. A couple of times I thought it had turned off it took so long.

However, I was able to pinpoint when I ovulated, so it worked. And it didn't cost any more than a standard digital thermometer.

Wait for the beep

I started using this thermometer 3 mornings ago, and although the price was very attractive, you get what you pay for. The first time I used it, it never beeped to let me know it was ready to be read. I kept it under my tongue for 4 minutes before I finally took it out...the reading was a normal 97.3. The next two mornings it did beep after a couple of minutes, so it seems to be working fine now. I think 2 minutes is a long time to hold a thermometer in your mouth these days since we have all been accustomed to the high tech "get your temperature in 30 second" thermometers. Especially as soon as you wake up in the morning. 2 minutes is long enough to fall back asleep :) I will be on the look out for a basal thermometer with a quicker read-out.

Pros:

It is color-coded with pink on the end so I don't get it mixed up with our other thermometers.

Cons:

The length of time you have to wait for read out. Not water-proof.

I already have a basal thermometer that I bought from walgreens, but the battery died in it. So, I decided to try this one. The temp on it was super low evetytime I used it. And I didn't like how you recall your last temp. You can only go back one temp, my other one does 3. I did like the beep on it better, though. It's a little quieter than the one I use.

I previously was attempting to use just a digital thermometer. Realized quickly that it was not accurate for BBT charting. So I ordered this digital basal thermometer. Definitely much much more accurate than the last. You still have to be consistent where you place it under your tongue though (but that goes without saying). It does take a full 2 minutes though to before it beeps to tell you it is done. Usually depending on the morning, I start falling back asleep waiting for the beep. But I have tested it and it does give a fairly consistent reading every time.

It's done a good job of measuring my temperature, the only problem is I am very much not a morning person and I can't seem to remember to take my temperature before I do anything. I've been sleeping pretty poorly as well which makes the getting 3 hours of sleep more difficult.

I used this thermometer for 6 months with no problem. I was very happy with my purchase during that time. It's a basic thermometer, but did exactly what it was supposed to do. During my 7th month of charting I had flat temps for my first 7 days - temps only varied by .01 each day. I thought it was a low battery so I replaced it but the problem continued. I checked it against other thermometers and it was just wrong, so I had to buy a new one.
For the price, I guess it was good enough, but wish it would have lasted longer.

-stores last temp
-inexpensive

Cons:

-died after 6 months of use
-backlight would be nice

I bought the digital basal thermometer when I wasn't seeing any "ovulation patterns" using my regular digital thermometer. I thought that the basal one would be more accurate. I started using it halfway through my cycle (not very smart)- it was registering much higher temps than my regular thermometer...
Turns out, I was actually pregnant- hence the higher temps!
I like this product very much though, it takes longer to register your temperature but it shows it to the hundredths, which is helpful.

I like the thermometer. It seems to work well. The only thing I do not like is that it says that you can check the previous temperature but mine does not do that. And if I had to do it again I would definitely get one with a light in order to read the reading. I just have to keep a flashlight next to it since I can't recall the temperature later.

I bought a bbt thermometer at a drugstore and it didn't work at all. It just said 98.6 no matter what, which I knew had to be wrong. Sure enough, the reviews on it were terrible. This one seems much more accurate and is very easy to use. It would be cool if it had a light function so I could read the temp in the dark, but I don't know if any thermometers have that.

I had a glass Basal thermometer, but found that I drifted off to sleep with it in my mouth one too many times! So, I purchased the digital Basal because it "beeps" when your temp is at it's maximum and ready to be read. Over the past month since I started to use it, I have charted daily, which has been very helpful in my family planning efforts (I use the FAM).

Very simple to use. It doesn't have a light but that's not really a big deal since it stores the last reading. You just check it later. On my first one, the battery died after the first use. However, I e-mailed them and they had another one in the mail the same day. Yes it was a pain and I missed a few days worth of charting, but the customer service was EXCELLENT. This is how companies should do business.

I never used a Digital basal Themometer, I got confused when i turned it on and it said low, so i went out and buy new battaries, still said low when you turn it on. I thought that there was something wrong with the battaries I brought, so i took them back and got another one, put them in and it still said low, i finally got it the thats the way you made the basal themometer due to the fact that its a lower temp- that we need. ?

It's a bit cheap looking, but for the price, it's acceptable. The beep function and memory is handy when you just want to take your temperature and go back to sleep without looking at the number.

I wish there was an option for readings in celsius (for us Canucks), which is why I am not recommending it.

When I first received this product I read the directions and tried it out to make sure it worked. Everything seemed fine at the time. The next morning when I was taking my waking temp the thermometer was not working properly. it says it should take a couple of minutes before it beeps to let you know it was done...but I have yet to get a 'Beep'. I kept the dang thing in my mouth for 5 minutes! I used it for 2 weeks and so far nothing. So I'm not sure if it is even working correctly. Suffice to say I'm a little disappointed:-(

I was leery about purchasing this thermometer due to some of the reviews but the thermometer has been very accurate in taking my tempt. The recall feature is great but taking 3 mins to register your temp sometimes is a hassle especially if you fall back to sleep which I have done a few times.

More Accurate Charting!

I purchased this digital basal thermometer because my doctor was concerned that I may not be ovulating on my own. I have recently been using Clomid for fertility and it can make ovulation come early or delay. With such unpredictable dates for trying to conceive, I decided to start charting. I used a fever thermometer the first month and it was nearly impossible to read. I used this digital basal thermometer this month and it was so much easier to read my chart and identify that I ovulated late. I had purchsed the test strip combo from here as well and all of my results confirmed the same day for ovulation. I would recommend this product for anyone trying to conceive. It takes away most of the guessing.

Every morning I take my temp before getting out of bed, love that it remembers your temp if you forget before you have time to write it down. The only con is that it takes a long time to register your temp which can get a little uncomfortable.

this BBT is very good, I have been using it for 6 months and haven't had any problems with it. I like how it only beeps when it gets the reading instead of the whole time it's taking the temperature, it hasn't woken my Husband up at all. I also like how you can hold down the button to get the saved temperature and it keeps it until you temp again.

Cons:

the only con about this BBT is the button is a little sensitive and there have been a couple of days when I pressed it once and it actually sensed twice so it erased my temp. I would prefer it if there were 2 buttons for stop and start or different beep sounds to let you know what it's doing

I got a BBT from my Natural Family Planning courses when I was doing marriage prep, and I loved it. I thought all BBT were created equal but I was wrong. The BBT I got from the class had a lighted display and beeped while it was taking your temp so you knew it was working. This BBT has neither feature. It's the most basic BBT available. I ended up going back through my NFP class provider to get a thermometer like my original one.

I've been using this thermometer a couple cycles now. It works great, I like the little case it has, and its pretty good at taking a small beating as I'm pretty clumsy when I first wake up. I like that it stores my previous temp. also, in case I forget it and need to check it again, but I wish it wouldn't just flash it and would hold it on a little longer. Sometimes I have to check multiple times because it goes by so fast.
I also wish it didn't take so long for it to take my temp. Sometimes it has taken it 4minutes to get my temp!

The thermometer was defective. It did not store any temperatures except for the first one, though I was still able to take my temperature. 3-4 morning temperatures were lost until I realized. From then on when I took my temperature I had to get up immediately to record it.

This BBT works great! I only have one complaint - it takes a while to get your temp. Most days I almost fall back asleep and at first I had to turn on a lamp to make sure it was still working. Other than that it works great. It doesn't beep the whole time you're taking your temp so it doesn't bother my husband. Good product!

Long wait and frequent glitch

I found this thermometer to be less than satisfactory for two reasons. First, it took a long time to get my temperature so I would be lying in bead waiting forever for it to beep so I could get up to go pee. Sometimes I couldn't wait. Secondly, I often found my wait was for nothing because the screen had simply errored out and there was a symbol in the corner that I could not find any indication of what it meant. I replaced the battery (though the thermometer was new) but the problem persisted so I simply purchased a different brand locally.

This thermometer works great. I love the ability to chart to the one hundreth of a degree- although charting to the tenth works okay. My only qualm with this product is that the battery has already died and i've only been charting for a month and a half.

I have used this for one month, and it works great. My temps have been very consistent. The only thing that would make it perfect is a backlight, because I like to know right away what my temp is. It's a great thermometer though.

I ordered it when trying for my daughter in 2005. I'm using it again now, winter 2007 and it still is working perfectly. It takes a minute or two to get your reading, but its very accurate so its worth it to me.

I also like the fact you can hold the button to review your last temperature and it doesn't clear it out until you take another temp, so you can review it later if you forget to write it down.
